Relocating Jews from Israel to Birobidjan would restore Palestine to its rightful owners

Solution to Unending Mideast Crises May Lie in First Jewish Homeland

By Michael Collins Piper — AFP
A GROWING NUMBER OF PROPONENTs of a just peace in the Middle East view what has been called the “Birobidjan Option” as the final (and equitable) solution to the ongoing problem of Palestine, where Jewish settlers from Europe and the United States (and from other countries) displaced native Arabs (Christian and Muslim alike) and established the state of Israel in 1948.
Among the most prominent of those publicizing the Birobidjan solution to the Middle East crisis is Lady Michele Renouf, the glamorous British television personality whose forthright advocacy of freedom of thought and expression has led her into direct confrontation with forces in the pro-Israel lobby determined to silence any and all opinion (or historical facts) that conflict with its agenda. (For more on the efforts of Lady Renouf, see her website at jailingopinions.com)
What then is Birobidjan and how does it relate to the problems of the Middle East? The fact that few people know is that in 1928 there was established (under the auspices of the Soviet Union) the first-ever modern Jewish state known colloquially as Birobidjan (alternatively spelled “Birobidzhan”) located on the border of Russia and China, not far from the Pacific Ocean.
Birobidjan was the first territorial-administrative entity in the world designated for the Jewish people on the basis of their Jewish nationality. In short, Israel was not the first Jewish state. Birobidjan was—and it was in existence years before Israel came into being.
Jews worldwide were invited to come voluntarily to this Jewish homeland, known officially as the Jewish Autonomous Region, and many did, including more than 1,000 Jews from outside the Soviet Union.
And the language of the Ashkenazi Jewish people— Yiddish—was made the official language of this Jewish state. [The word “Yiddish” [“Juden Deutsche”] means “Jewish German” and is, in short, pidgin German with a Jewish slant. Eastern Yiddish is characterized by the admixture of more Slavic words. Yiddish is, however, written in the Hebrew alphabet.—Ed.]
American Jewish organizations lent their support to this project, including “Ambidjan”—the American Birobidjan Committee — whose officials included Albert Einstein and the prominent American Jewish author B.Z. Goldberg.
This first Jewish state of the 20th century preceded the birth of Israel in Palestine by more than 20 years. Yet, in 1948, Israel was established, in the wake of much bloodshed and destruction rained upon the Christian and Muslim peoples of Palestine.
Since then millions of displaced Palestinians, forced from their homes, have struggled to survive, many living in open-air ghettoes that are no more than what are known as concentration camps. This ugly history is well-known to small numbers of peoples across the planet, but still remains a mystery to Americans.
Today there are those — including this writer—who advocate the peaceful relocation of the Jews now in Palestine to Birobidjan.
Lady Renouf has assessed what could be accomplished by a rejuvenated Jewish state in Birobidjan: “By resettling Jews in the original pre-Israel homeland, Palestine could be restored to its rightful owners, the victims of the 20th century’s longest, most notorious and enduring injustice.”

Birobidjan City’s main square
In fact, today, Birobidjan is a virtual Jewish paradise. The home of two synagogues, Birobidjan City has 77,250 inhabitants. Yiddish theaters opened in the 1970s. Yiddish and Jewish traditions have been required components in all public schools for almost 15 years, taught not as Jewish exotica but as part of the region’s national heritage.”
The Birobidjan Synagogue, completed in 2004, is next to a complex housing Sunday School classrooms, a library, a museum and administrative offices. The buildings were officially opened in 2004 to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast (JAR). Concerning the Jewish community of the region, Governor Nikolay Mikhaylovich Volkov stated that he intends to “support every valuable initiative maintained by our local Jewish organizations.”
In 2007, the First Birobidjan International Summer Program for Yiddish Language and Culture was launched byYiddish studies professor Boris Kotlerman of Bar-Ilan University. For the Chanukah celebration of 2007, officials of Birobidjan in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast claimed to have built the world’s largest menorah. The Birobidjan Jewish National University works in cooperation with the local religious community. The university is unique in the Russian Far East. The basis of the training course is study of the Hebrew language, history and classic Jewish texts.
The town now boasts several state-run schools that teach Yiddish, as well as an Anglo-Yiddish faculty at its higher education college, a Yiddish school for religious instruction and a kindergarten. The five-to seven-year-olds spend two lessons a week learning to speak Yiddish, as well as being taught Jewish songs, dance and traditions. The school menorah was created in 1991. It is a public school that offers a half-day Yiddish and Jewish curriculum for those parents who choose it. About half the school’s 120 pupils are enrolled in the Yiddish course. Many of them continue on to Public School No. 2, which offers the same half-day Yiddish/ Jewish curriculum from first through 12th grade. Yiddish also is offered at Birobidzhan’s Pedagogical Institute, one of the only university-level Yiddish courses in Russia. Today, the city’s 14 public schools must teach Yiddish and Jewish tradition.
Advocates of the Birobidjan option for solving the Middle East crisis say that first steps would include formal recognition of Birobidjan as the world’s only self-governing Jewish state and that areas of the Middle East now known as “Israel,” “Gaza” and the “West Bank” would constitute the new state of Palestine. Naturally, the United Nations and the United States (in particular) as well as other nations and entities that have been concerned with the Middle East would provide all necessary assistance for the relocation of Jews now living in Israel to Birobidjan and encourage all nations able to assist to do so.
Some people of good will have gone so far as to suggest that U.S. foreign aid and German national Holocaust reparations payments earmarked for Israel be redirected to the purpose of airlifting from Palestine all Jewish inhabitants to Birobidjan and the transfer of all of their personal possessions; that aid money be used for the construction of homes for the Jewish immigrants to Birobidjan. In the future, aid and reparations previously earmarked for Israel would be redirected to Birobidjan.
The whole issue is subject to debate, but those who view Birobidjan as an answer to the Middle East conflict generally conclude it provides a humane proposal that can nurture the first-ever Jewish homeland and bring a final solution to the enduring problem of Palestine.

Lady Renouf: Mideast Peace Solution in SE Russia
By Lady Michèle Renouf

In the July 5 issue of AMERICAN FREE PRESS Paul Craig Roberts, the former assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury, writing after the Israeli lobby’s backbiting against veteran journalist Helen Thomas, insisted he did “not want Israel destroyed.” Whereas Mrs. Thomas suggested returning Israeli Jews to their old European haunts, Roberts made what he called the “rhetorical . . . proposal to relocate Israelis in the U.S.” Yet neither has been willing to state the obvious: Israel at no time had any moral right to exist in Palestine.
The living criminal blueprint for The Jewish State was drawn up by Theodor Herzl in 1895 when Adolf Hitler was aged 6, and World War II was half a century away, and therefore irrelevant to the plan.
As it happens there is a real, rather than rhetorical, alternative homeland option where the world’s Jews could relocate in perfect safety. Here their security wall would be optional rather than a self-fulfilling credal projection of their anti-gentile identity. A homeland which has never provoked desperate suicide bombings or rocket attacks, since its creation did not involve mythic impostures of “God-given” privileged real estate, the genocidal blueprint for piracy of other people’s ancestral land or their credally “authorized” displacement to besieged refugee camps.
The founding of this homeland predated Israel by two decades. This Jewish republic (in all but name) is the size of Switzerland. It still exists, and Yiddish is its first official language. What is officially called the Jewish Autonomous Region, though generally referred to by the name of its capital city Birobidjan, is located on Russia’s south-eastern border with China. It was created in 1928 during the early days of the former Soviet Union and formalized in 1934.
I have had the opportunity to speak about Birobidjan on two occasions this year in very different though equally prestigious venues. These venues each owe their best ethics essentially to the classical Greek scientific attitude.
This first was before the House of Lords in London, mother of Parliaments, which still purveys the aura of centuries-old sovereign tradition, though sadly Israeli-occupied territory for the past century and a half.
By contrast, the Iranian presidential headquarters in Teheran is today the principal target of predatory Israeli envy and aggression against the success of the Khomeini revolution, which made Iran’s economy and foreign policy off limits to international “greed is good” oriented usurers.
On each occasion my public interventions on this subject were carefully monitored and commented on by the Community Security Trust (CST), the private army and intelligence organization of England’s Jewish community.
The CST was set up in 1994 by jailbird tycoon Gerald Ronson, the archetypal Jewish “hard man,” who previously co-founded the “62 Group,” a thuggish gang specializing in brutal attacks on anti-Israelis in London and around the UK.
Earlier this year the CST found it “troubling” to note that I “was speaking to a meeting at the House of Lords, where her proposal was greeted with applause . . . to promote her campaign to have Jews relocate en masse to Birobidjan, a Jewish autonomous region established in the eastern Soviet Union by Stalin in 1934.”
A few months later they were even more concerned, noting my impromptu address to a thousand international delegates gathered at President Ahmadinejad’s Teheran headquarters during the Fourth International Conference on Imam Khomeini and Foreign Policy, organized by the Iranian Institute for Political and International Studies.
I used this invitation to propose, directly to President Ahmadinejad, Birobidjan as a home for Israel’s Jews: A ready-made common sense option and just conclusion to the rogue criminal occupation of Palestine.
My hope is that our singularly upstanding President Ahmadinejad, who speaks the whole political truth bravely, will promote awareness of the first Jewish homeland and that there is no need for European Ashkenazim Jews to go back to Germany, Poland or Austria when they have their own state whose first language is Yiddish.
The CST warned its supporters: “Ahmadinejad’s response to Renouf’s plea is not known. But if the Iranian president does, at some point in the future, propose deporting Israeli Jews to Birobidjan, you will know where he heard it first.”
So let me tell you, dear doughty readers of AFP, eye-ball to eyeball, the dauntless Iranian president said in English, “you and me, we see it the same.”
That may be because Khomeini’s ongoing successful morale re-armament revolution is surprisingly like the keynote of the courageous Catholic Bishop Richard Williamson’s plea that without historical truth there can be no international justice, and that “historical truth goes by evidence, not by emotion.”

UNCENSORED NATIONALIST SPEECHES
Lady Michèle Renouf in Teheran: ‘Mideast Peace Solution in SE Russia’
THE MODERN WORLD’S FIRST ZION is a story that needs to be brought to as many people as possible.
This forgotten Manchurian paradise of “milk and honey” welcomes the world’s Jews with open
arms, unlike the Palestinian desert. This autonomous region was recently visited by the president of
Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, himself probably of Jewish stock. The Birobidzhan option is a viable and
equitable solution to the problem of Israel.

In the July 5th issue of AMERICAN FREE PRESs, Paul Craig Roberts, the former assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury, writing after the Zionist lobby’s inter-Jewish backbiting against veteran journalist Helen Thomas, insisted he did “not want Israel destroyed.”

was set up in 1994 by jailbird tycoon Gerald Ronson, the archetypal Jewish shtarker or “hardman,” who previously cofounded the “62 Group,” a thuggish gang specializing in brutal attacks on anti-Zionists in London and around the United Kingdom.
While the 62 Group’s hitmen often found themselves on the wrong side of the law, the increasing power of the Zionist lobby in recent decades is reflected in the enhanced status of Ronson’s newer Jewish security force. The CST is not only tolerated by the British authorities, the Home Office and UK police forces actively and openly assist their operations. Indeed they act as a privileged nationalist police force within another nation.
Earlier this year the CST found it “troubling” to note that I “was speaking to a meeting at the House of Lords, where [my] proposal was greeted with applause . . . to promote her campaign to have Jews relocate en masse to Birobidzhan, a Jewish autonomous region established in the eastern Soviet Union by Stalin in 1934.”

I used this invitation to propose—directly to President Ahmadinejad — Birobidzhan as a home for Israel’s Jews. It is a ready-made, common sense option and just conclusion to the rogue criminal occupation of Palestine.
As I explained to the assembled company: Indeed after 1928 European Jews had no need to pirate Palestine, and to this day a Jewish Autonomous Region called Birobidzhan exists peacefully and available on Russia’s southeast border with China, having never displaced an indigenous people for its creation. Today some Jews—for instance Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s PR officer during a live televised debate with me—try to claim that it was an act of anti-Semitism when Stalin gave this region of 30,000 square kilometers (the size of Switzerland) to Jews. The truth is that Stalin was providing every ethnic group comprising the Soviet Union with its own autonomous region, and nothing “anti-Semitic” has ever endangered Birobidzhan during its 82 autonomously Jewish, safe and peaceful years of existence.
Furthermore, in 1945, when secular European Jews were crying “we are a people without a homeland, Palestine is a land without a people,” again they lied, for in 1945 there wasno political impediment to prevent European Jewry heading for the welcoming arms of their vast and long-established Jewish Autonomous Region in Birobidzhan.
The same is true today, yet in our mainstream media we hear not a word of Birobidzhan. Only rarely does the JewishTelegraphic Agency (JTA) mention Birobidzhan, and when it does it refers to it disingenuously as a “district.” Which district in the world is the size of Switzerland? The fact is that since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, its ethnically autonomous regions have been entitled to republic status, yet the JTA lets us know that due to so-called “sensitivity” to Israel, Birobidzhan has declined, due to fear of raising gentile public awareness of its existence, to acknowledge its status as this first Jewish homeland, which is all but a state and republic.
Please view my “first homeland” option and morale rearmament website at www.birobidjan.co.uk (also see www.jewishrepublic.com) for, in the spirit of Imam Khomeini, there you will find a campaign for moral and morale rearmament. The Palestinians whose Nakba constitutes the greatest and longest tragedy of the 20th century—those brave voters who democratically elected the long heroic Hamas—deserve the return of every inch of their tormented land, and not any part in the specious “one-state two-state” farce. The immediate vacation of European Jews from all of Palestine and compensation to the indigenous Arab peopleis more than overdue to those who, for more than a century, continue to fight for Reason at the front line of historicaltruth and international justice for all of us.
The CST warned its supporters: “Ahmadinejad’s responseto Renouf ’s plea is not known. But if the Iranianpresident does, at some point in the future, propose deportingIsraeli Jews to Birobidzhan, you will know where he
“Earlier this year the CST

heard it first.”
So let me tell you, dear doughtyreaders of TBR. Eyeball to eyeballthe dauntless president said in English,“you and me, we see it thesame.”
That may be because Khomeini’songoing successful morale rearmamentrevolution is surprisinglylike the key note of thecourageous bishop, Richard Williamson whosaid: without historicaltruth there can be no internationaljustice, and that “historical truthgoes by evidence, not by emotion.”
The opposing predatory strategyof our international Zionist foe depends upon the flimsy bind thattruth cannot matter to a man whoselivelihood depends upon his notseeing it. Yet without a “prophecy come true” swindling line, the advertisingmystique of the “ZionistEntity” can be readily undone. AsMr. Roberts points out, this charitystate is “heavily dependent on U.S.largess.” So let’s just turn off theAmerican taxpaying pipeline to theunworthy self-worshipping charitystate of Israel, Mr. Roberts.
I would suggest that the existenceof Birobidzhan is the non“anti-Semitic” option that is missing in everybody’s “one-stateor two-state” farce.
However, as Mr. Roberts appears not to have seenthrough the credal incompatibility of Judaism with Palestinianequality, regrettably he returns to the consensuallyfloundering inoperative “nice” fantasy of Zionism’s criticsthat “Israel should be moved or reformed.” But a “reformedIsrael” is nothing but an oxymoron. Hasn’t he noticed thatthat Israel is the barbaric Old Testament made manifest? Israeli-born “ex-jew” Gilad Atzmon certainly has said—andhe should know—that 97% of Israelis backed the “OperationCast Lead” gratuitous terror upon the besieged impoverishedGazans. This proves that Old Testament-dedicatedIsrael is morally non-“reformable.” Let’s just dismantle thiscriminal entity and let Jewry live and let live in their JewishRepublic of Birobidzhan so that the Palestinians need nolonger fight for Reason at the front line of historical truthand international justice for all of us.

Introduction. Joseph Stalin’s legacy continues to haunt geopolitical developments across the world. Stalin (‘Man of Steel’) ruled the USSR and later Soviet-Russian Empire with an iron fist from 1928 until his death in 1953. His individual resolve placed Russia on a course to national greatness by reversing the Bolshevik-Marxist psychosis that would have reduced Russia to chaos and destroyed the very soul of the Russian people. In foreign policy Stalin assured Russia’s place as a world power and maintained the national and cultural freedom of Russia by rejecting the post-1945 international policy that the USA aimed at creating a one-world government. In the arts Stalinism repudiated ‘rootless cosmopolitanism’ in favour of a Soviet culture based on a synthesis of Russian traditions. ...
