L'histoire de l'industrie cinématographique hollywoodienne est une histoire juive. Les fameux studios de cinéma MGM, Warner Bros ou Twentieth Century Fox ont été créés par des Juifs immigrés d'Europe de l'Est. Les frères Warner, Samuel Goldwyn, Louis B. Mayer ou encore Adolphe Zukor sont à l’origine des quatre plus grandes majors américaines.
Au début du 20e siècle, alors que l'industrie du cinéma est en pleine expansion, de jeunes Juifs immigrés ambitieux perçoivent vite les lacunes criantes du marché des loisirs et sont prêts à prendre des risques. Ils voient grand. Indépendamment, chacun devient propriétaire de studios de cinéma. Les nouveaux patrons juifs d’Hollywood deviennent si puissants qu’ils ont le pouvoir de faire ou défaire les carrières.

La Warner BrothersLa Warner Bros. Pictures Inc, fait partie des pionniers de l’industrie cinématographique. Elle est fondée en 1903 par quatre frères originaires de Pologne : Harold (l’aîné, 1881–1958), Jack (1892–1978), Albert (1883–1967) et Sam (1884–1927) Warner. L’entreprise prospère d’abord dans l’exploitation de salles de cinéma. En 1912, les frères décident de produire un film eux-mêmes. Sam devient le directeur technique du studio, Albert se charge de la distribution, Harry prend en main les finances et Jack la production.
Les studios sont créés en 1923. En 1925, la Warner Bros. Pictures Inc. est leader dans le business des films muets. La même année, elle rachète la Vitaphone Company détentrice de l’invention de la synchronisation son-image. En 1927, Warner est la première à se lancer dans la nouvelle aventure du parlant. Avec Le chanteur de jazz dont l’acteur principal Al Jolson est également juif, la Warner révolutionne l’industrie du cinéma. En rachetant en 1929 la société First National Pictures, la Warner contrôle 250 salles de cinéma qui garantissent la diffusion de ses films. Le studio se spécialise dans les films d’aventures comme Robin des Bois (1938) et les films policiers avec les vedettes de l’époque comme Humphrey Bogart (le Faucon maltais). Dans le même temps, Warner se diversifie, se lançant dans le dessin animé. Il accueille entre autre dans ses studios le génial Tex Avery et son univers de personnages délirants.
Les studios Warner continuent d’être parmi les leaders d’Hollywood jusque dans les années 1960.

Paramount
Né en Hongrie, Adolph Zukor (1873–1976) découvre le cinéma à 20 ans. Il commence par distribuer quelques films. Il s’aperçoit rapidement du manque de longs métrages de qualité. Il se tourne alors vers la production. Avec Daniel Frohman, ami juif producteur de spectacles, il ouvre un studio de production : Famous Players. Leur but est d’amener des acteurs de théâtre célèbres à se tourner vers le septième art balbutiant. Ils produisent des classiques comme Le Comte de Monte Christo.
En 1917, Zukor rassemble d’autres maisons de production naissantes et fonde Paramount Pictures. Ces studios inventent l'industrie cinématographique en assurant au sein d'une même compagnie la production, la réalisation et la distribution des films. Zukor qui brille dans tous ces domaines, assure lui-même la présidence de la société, une des plus grandes du monde. Mais Zukor n’oublie pas ce qu’il est : il s’investit dans la bienfaisance juive.

Twentieth Century FoxLe producteur William (Fuchs) Fox (1879–1952), lui aussi originaire de Hongrie, entre en 1904 dans la profession en achetant son premier théâtre. Il y installe un projecteur de cinéma. Fox étend son circuit de salles aux Etats-Unis. Cela le mène en 1915 à la présidence de Fox Film et Fox Theater Corporations. Insatisfait de la qualité des films distribués, il commence à tourner ses propres longs métrages dans une grange qu’il loue. En 1917, il construit des studios à Hollywood et dans les années 1920 produit des films à succès. En 1935, la 20th naît de la fusion de Fox Film et de Twentieth Century Pictures fondée en 1933 par Joseph Schenck (1878-1961) autre Juif originaire de Russie, ancien président de United Artists.

La M.G.M.En 1913, Samuel Goldfish (1882–1974), d'origine polonaise, rentre dans l’industrie du cinéma alors qu’il est gantier. Son premier long-métrage, Le mari de l'Indienne, est un succès immédiat. Deux ans plus tard, il s’associe avec Edgar et Archibald Selwyn pour créer la Goldwyn Pictures Corporation, (formé de la 1e syllabe de Goldfish et de la dernière de Selwyn). Samuel Goldfish finit par adopter ce nom (un peu plus chic et un peu moins juif). La période spectaculaire de sa carrière s’ouvre quand en 1923 il commence à faire des films indépendants. Un an plus tard, il fusionne avec Mayer et Metro pour devenir les fameux grands studios de cinéma Metro Goldwyn Mayer (M.G.M.). Samuel Goldfish dote ses films de son talent et de son imagination propres, reflets de sa marque personnelle. Il introduit et produit beaucoup d’acteurs populaires. Il engage également des écrivains et scénaristes renommés. Grand producteur, Goldwyn devient une légende dans l’industrie du cinéma. Il consacre ses profits à la Fondation Samuel Goldwyn qui aide les causes philanthropiques et éducatives.
De son côté, originaire de Biélorussie, Louis Burt Mayer (1885–1957) commence sa carrière en achetant en 1907 un théâtre burlesque dans l’Etat du Massachusetts. Il y projette des films. Bientôt, il achète tous les théâtres de la ville de Haverhill. Il s'établit à Los Angeles en 1916. Grâce aux salles de cinéma, il devient rapidement exploitant, distributeur et enfin producteur avec son entreprise, la Louis B. Mayer Pictures Corporation. Il fusionne sa société avec la M.G.M. en 1924. Louis B. Mayer est nommé vice-président et devient directeur de la production jusqu’en 1951. Son aptitude à sentir le goût du public assure à la M.G.M. un énorme succès. Il cumule les réussites : la Grande Parade en 1925 ou Grand Hôtel en 1932. Mayer est un grand défenseur du ‘’star system’’. Il découvre et soutient des vedettes comme Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford et Clark Gable, ou des enfants comme Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland et Elizabeth Taylor qui feront plus tard les carrières que l’on sait.
Dans le milieu, Louis Mayer est appelé "le Tout-Puissant". La M.G.M. est connue sous le nom de ‘’Mayer Gunsa Mishpocha’’ (Mayer pour toute la famille, en yiddish) parce que l'homme avait tendance à y employer ses parents !
A la M.G.M., tous les responsables du studio sont juifs comme le directeur Marcus Loew ou le responsable de la production Irving Thalberg.
Marcus Loew (1872–1927), commence sa carrière dans le cinéma en projetant des films dans des salles louées. En 1919, il achète Metro Pictures Inc. et en 1924 acquiert Goldwyn Pictures. Puis Marcus Loew est nommé président des studios Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer et sa compagnie Loew's Inc. devient une des plus grandes chaînes de cinéma aux Etats Unis.
Pour sa part, Irving Grant Thalberg (1899–1936) rejoint Universal Pictures juste après avoir fini ses études. Il devient directeur général des studios à 24 ans, lorsqu’il produit Le bossu de Notre Dame (1923). Un an plus tard, il devient le bras droit de Louis B. Mayer et peu après l’avènement de la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, devient le producteur en chef de la compagnie. C’est à lui que l’on doit la première version de Ben-Hur (muet) en 1926. Thalberg guide la M.G.M. dans sa transition du muet au parlant, pulvérisant les records du box office avec la première comédie musicale Broadway Melody (1929). Il est responsable des plus célèbres films de son temps, comme Les révoltés du Bounty (1935) ainsi que de plusieurs comédies des Marx Brothers (comiques juifs).
La M.G.M. contribue à l’âge d’or du cinéma américain. Les plus grands y travaillent : Leslie Caron, Cyd Charisse, Ava Gardner, Laurence Olivier, Alfred Hitchcock. La M.G.M. sera le véritable symbole de l’hégémonie cinématographique américaine et de l'industrie du spectacle.

Quant à David Oliver Selznick (1902–1965), il ne crée pas de major mais devient un des plus grands et plus renommés producteurs d’Hollywood. Il commence d’abord comme assistant de production sur des Westerns aux studios M.G.M. Rapidement, il se hisse au premier rang des producteurs d’Hollywood. Il travaille pour Paramount et plus tard pour la société de production indépendante R.K.O. Il produit notamment King Kong. Revenant à la M.G.M. comme vice-président, il finance des succès importants comme Autant en emporte le vent (1939), le film le plus cher jamais réalisé à l’époque, Rebecca (1940), Une étoile est née (1954). David Selznick découvre et fabrique de nombreuses stars : Fred Astaire, Katharine Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Vivien Leigh. Au faîte de sa carrière, il est élu meilleur producteur 10 années consécutives. Mais son extrême méticulosité le conduit à d’innombrables disputes avec réalisateurs et acteurs. Certains refusent même de travailler avec lui.
De son côté, son frère Myron Selznick, devient l'un des agents les plus puissants d'Hollywood.

Emigrés fuyant la misère et les persécutions, ces visionnaires ont crée l’industrie du rêve. Avec talent et intelligence, ils ont eu l’intuition de percevoir le potentiel extraordinaire de ce nouveau média. Réinventant un monde imaginaire onirique et merveilleux, ils comblèrent les espoirs du public sur grand écran et firent de ce spectacle le véritable âge d’or du cinéma américain. Hollywood, une histoire juive en somme.

CHAPTER EIGHT
Yes, the Jews Do Control the Media:
Rothschild’s Mechanism for Political Domination


Ultimately, we cannot talk about the course of modern affairs, domestic or internationally, without recognizing the preeminent role of the modern-day (Rothschild-influenced) media in dictating public policy and in determining the selection of American presidents and popularly-elected politicians at all levels.And to accurately address that question of media power, correctly and accurately, we have to recognize the fact that there is substantial Jewish control of the mass media, particularly in America.This is a critical fact that cannot be denied.

Writing in 1993 in Tribes, Jewish author Joel Kotkin asserted that although, in his position, Jews were“not in control of the media and the arts, as some anti-Semites suggest” the fact was that:

Jews clearly possess a disproportionate influence in movies, publishing, advertising and theater. In the media, according to one survey in the 1970s, one quarter of the leading figures were Jewish, more than ten times their percentage in the general population.

Jewish writer Dr. Norman Cantor, writing in The Sacred Chain, put it thus, regarding Jewish media influence in the United States:

As in Berlin and Vienna before Hitler, the Jewish role in publishing was an important one. By 1950 Jewish families owned two of the three most influential newspapers in the United States, The NewYork Times and TheWashington Post. Furthermore, both families were directly involved in the daily operation of the papers and in setting their editorial policies.

J. J. Goldberg—yet another Jewish writer—in his 1996 book, Jewish Power: Inside the American Jewish Establishment, acknowledged:

It is true that Jews are represented in the media business in numbers far out of proportion to their share of the population. Studies have shown that while Jews make up little more than 5 percent of the working press nationwide—hardly more than their share of the population—they make up one fourth or more of the writers, editors, and producers in America’s “elite media,” including network news divisions, the top newsweeklies and the four leading daily papers (NewYork Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal).

In the fast-evolving world of media megacorporations, Jews are even more numerous. In an October 1994 Vanity Fair feature profiling the kingpins of the new media elite, titled “The New Establishment,” just under half of the two dozen entrepreneurs profiled were Jews.

In the view of the magazine’s editors, these are America’s true power elite,“men and women from the entertainment, communications and computer industries, whose ambitions and influence have made America the one true superpower of the Information Age.”

And in a few key sectors of the media, notably among Hollywood studio executives, Jews are so numerically dominant that calling these businesses Jewish-controlled is little more than a statistical observation.

“If there is Jewish power, it’s the power of the word, the power of Jewish columnists and Jewish opinion makers,” says Eugene Fisher, director of Catholic-Jewish relations at the National Conference of Catholic Bishops,and one of the Jewish community’s staunchest defenders in religious Christian circles.“The Jewish community is a very literate community,and it has a lot to say.And if you can shape opinion, you can shape events.”

Goldberg adds further:

The combined weight of so many Jews in one of America’s most lucrative and important industries gives the Jews of Hollywood a great deal of political power. . . .

But the same could be said, to a much greater degree, of other industries with significant concentrations of Jews:Wall Street, New York real estate, or the garment industry.

In each of those industries, Jews make up a significant bloc—an important minority onWall Street,near majorities in clothing and commercial real estate—and have translated their clout into a visible presence on the political scene.

Jewish writer Steven Silbiger, writing in 2000 in his book, The Jewish Phenomenon, which is a virtual catalogue of Jewish clout, said:

The Jewish influence is just as pronounced in television as it is in the movies. On the TV news desk, Jews have been very visible in front of the camera.As journalists, their personal religious and cultural beliefs are not made an issue in their reporting, but their power is significant because they influence how we as Americans view the world and shape our opinions. . . . Even more influential than reporters are the television news producers, since they decide which stories will go on air, in which order and how long they will run.A disproportionate number of these are Jewish as well. . . .

At one point in the 1980s, the executive producers of all three evening news shows were Jewish.

Furthermore, as Jewish Power [by J. J. Goldberg, cited elsewhere—Ed.] points out, while Jews make up “5% of the working press nationwide—hardly more than their share of the population—they make up one-fourth of the writers, editors and producers in America’s ‘elite media,’ including network news divisions, the top newsweeklies and the four leading papers.”

The remarkably high percentage of Jewish people in television has lasted for generations, perhaps because it is a relatively small and close-knit community.

In a poll of TV’s creative leaders, 59 percent said they were raised in the Jewish faith, while 38 percent [of that group] still identified themselves as Jews.

In his work, The Sacred Chain, Jewish writer Dr. Norman Kantor has also noted the predominance of Jewish influence in the lucrative world of professional sports.Although Cantor doesn’t enunciate the point per se, the fact is that Jewish control of the sports arena relates directly to Jewish media power, inasmuch as sports broadcasting has become an integral part of the mass media, leading in great part—due to the American obsession with sports— to Americans being misdirected and thereby unable to focus on the real issues that face them:

Jewish billionaires in the 1990s demonstrated that they had arrived at the pinnacle of social prowess and cultural importance by buying professional sports teams, hitherto the proud preserve of WASP and Irish magnates. By 1993 the New York football Giants—the most honored name in professional sports—two other National Football League teams, and two of the major league baseball franchises were in Jewish hands.

One of these Jewish owners carried so much weight with the other owners that he engineered the firing of the baseball commissioner and took over as acting commissioner, representing the owners before a congressional committee.

In the 1930s American Jews had thought they were doing well when they produced a couple of boxing champions.

The Jews did not have to show their sweaty bodies anymore; they owned the teams.

Jewish writer Charles Silberman, writing in 1985 in A Certain People, enunciated his own assessment of Jewish media power, particularly in journalism and news management in both print and broadcast media:

All told, the once-scruffy vocation [of journalism] has become an intellectually exciting, reasonably well-paid, prestigious profession in which Jews play an increasingly important role.

In 1982, for example, Jews made up a little less than 6 percent of the national press corps as a whole but 25 to 30 percent of the “media elite”—those working for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and TheWall Street Journal; for Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report; and for the news divisions of CBS, NBC, ABC, and the Public Broadcasting System and its leading stations. (A 1971 study put the number of Jews in the media elite at 25 percent.) When one looks at the key decision-making positions, the Jewish role appears to be even larger.

Jews are equally influential, if less well known, in the management of television news. It is the network correspondents, of course, who have become household names, among them Jews . . .

The greatest concentration of Jews, however, is at the producer level—and it is the producers who decide which stories will go on the air, and how long, and in what order they will run.

In 1982, before a shift in assignments, the executive producers of all three evening newscasts were Jewish, as were the executive producers of CBS’s 60 Minutes and ABC’s 20/20.

And Jews are almost equally prominent at the“senior producer” and “broadcast producer” levels as well as in senior management.

And yet another Jewish writer, Barry Rubin,writing in Assimilation and Its Discontents, noted just one example of how Jewish-oriented “news” and “information” is constantly being featured in the mainstream press:

[The October 18, 1992 reviews section of The Washington Post] is full of books by or about Jews: on sports and the American Jewish experience; a biography of Bill Graham, a Holocaust survivor and leading rock & roll impresario; the story of an upper-class New York family infected by antisemitism; a South African woman’s group portrait of her set of Jewish friends; a Jewish couple’s volume on foreign investments in America, analyzing problems of multiple loyalties and foreign influence parallel issues in assimilation; and a Jewish author’s book on politics in higher education, discussing multiculturalism in terms drawn from the integration of Jews into American society.

All of this is not to mention the amazing array of Jewish (usually virulently pro-Israel) editors and writers contributing to a vast array of “independent” journals of various political stripes—ranging from the “conservative” Weekly Standard to the ostensibly “liberal” New Republic—along with a wide range of other publications in between, all of which fall into line as far as promoting the global demands of the Rothschild Empire and its drive for a New World Order. Likewise with the Internet, such influence hardly needs mentioning.The truth of Jewish media influence cannot be denied.

To republish a list of so many names and publications would belabor the point, but the fact remains that those journalists and publications that seek to challenge the International Jewish Money Power and attempt to throw roadblocks in the path of the intended Jewish Utopia are marginalized and forced to seek independent means to challenge this looming disaster.

Fortunately, there are publications such as American Free Press (americanfreepress. net) and The Barnes Review (barnesreview.com), along with independent Internet-based broadcasting outlets such as Republic Broadcasting (found at republicbroadcasting.org)—along with a host of other resources—but they are dwarfed (sadly) in influence alongside the media cacaphony directed from the highest ranks of the Rothschild Empire.

What is amazing to recognize in considering this tremendous Jewish influence on the media is the fact this is not just a 20th Century phenomenon, not something that came with the rise of the big national (and now international) broadcast companies or the big weekly newsmagazines.

As we have seen repeatedly in these pages, the fact is, as recorded history shows, Jewish influence in the mass media in the nations of the West has been a major factor behind criticisms of “the Jews” and those who did rise up in criticism of Jewish power over the media were singularly pointing in the direction of the International Money Power as personified by the Rothschild Empire in Europe in all of the great capitals.

So the problem of the media has been longstanding. The Washington-based American Free Press has candidly asserted that “The Media Is The Enemy.” It is a problem that cannot be addressed without acknowledging the substantial Jewish influence upon that media.

And as we continue in our examination of the influence of the Rothschild Empire on American shores,we will see that this power expands far beyond just the media itself. In so many ways, America truly has become the engine of the Rothschild Empire and its drive for a Jewish Imperium—The Jewish Utopia—the New World Order.





Who Rules America? 

Time Warner. The largest media conglomerate today is Time Warner (briefly called AOL-Time Warner; the AOL was dropped from the name when accounting practices at the AOL division were questioned by government investigators), which reached its current form when America Online bought Time Warner for $160 billion in 2000. The combined company had revenue of $39.5 billion in 2003. The merger brought together Steve Case, a Gentile, as chairman of AOL-Time Warner, and Gerald Levin, a Jew, as the CEO. Warner, founded by the Jewish Warner brothers in the early part of the last century, rapidly became part of the Jewish power base in Hollywood, a fact so well-known that it is openly admitted by Jewish authors, as is the fact that each new media acquisition becomes dominated by Jews in turn: Speaking of the initial merger of Time, Inc. with Warner, Jewish writer Michael Wolff said in New York magazine in 2001 “since Time Inc.’s merger with Warner ten years ago, one of the interesting transitions is that it has become a Jewish company.” (”From AOL to W,” New York magazine, January 29, 2001)

In addition to cable and music, Time Warner is heavily involved in the production of feature films (Warner Brothers Studio, Castle Rock Entertainment, and New Line Cinema). Time Warner’s publishing division is managed by its editor-in-chief, Norman Pearlstein, a Jew. He controls 50 magazines including Time, Life, Sports Illustrated, and People. Book publishing ventures include Time-Life Books, Book-of-the-Month Club, Little Brown, and many others. Time Warner also owns Shoutcast and Winamp, the very tools that most independent Internet radio broadcasters rely on, and, as a dominant player in the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), was essentially “negotiating” with itself when Internet radio music royalty rules were set that strongly favored large content providers and forced many small broadcasters into silence. Disney. The second-largest media conglomerate today, with 2003 revenues of $27.1 billion, is the Walt Disney Company. Its leading personality and CEO, Michael Eisner, is a Jew.
The Disney empire, headed by a man described by one media analyst as a “control freak,” includes several television production companies (Walt Disney Television, Touchstone Television, Buena Vista Television) and cable networks with more than 100 million subscribers altogether. As for feature films, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group includes Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, and Caravan Pictures. Disney also owns Miramax Films, run by the Jewish Weinstein brothers, Bob and Harvey, who have produced such ultra-raunchy movies as The Crying Game, Priest, and Kids.
When the Disney Company was run by the Gentile Disney family prior to its takeover by Eisner in 1984, it epitomized wholesome family entertainment. While it still holds the rights to Snow White, the company under Eisner has expanded into the production of a great deal of so-called “adult” material.
In August 1995, Eisner acquired Capital Cities/ABC, Inc., which owns the ABC television network, which in turn owns ten TV stations outright in such big markets as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston. In addition, in the United States ABC has 225 affiliated TV stations, over 2,900 affiliated radio stations and produces over 7,200 radio programs. ABC owns 54 radio stations and operates 57 radio stations, many in major cities such as New York, Washington, and Los Angeles. Radio Disney, part of ABC Radio Networks, provides programming targeting children.
Sports network ESPN, an ABC cable subsidiary, is headed by President and CEO George W. Bodenheimer, who is a Jew. The corporation also controls the Disney Channel, Toon Disney, A&E, Lifetime Television, SOAPnet and the History Channel, with between 86 and 88 million subscribers each. The ABC Family television network has 84 million subscribers and, in addition to broadcasting entertainment (some of it quite raunchy for a “family” channel), is also the network outlet for Christian Zionist TV evangelist Pat Robertson.
Although primarily a telecommunications company, ABC/Disney earns over $1 billion in publishing, owning Walt Disney Company Book Publishing, Hyperion Books, and Miramax Books. It also owns six daily newspapers and publishes over 20 magazines. Disney Publishing Worldwide publishes books and magazines in 55 languages in 74 countries, reaching more than 100 million readers each month
On the Internet, Disney runs Buena Vista Internet Group, ABC Internet Group, ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, Oscar.com, Mr. Showbiz, Disney Online, Disney’s Daily Blast, Disney.com, Family.com, ESPN Internet Group, ESPN.sportzone.com, Soccernet.com, NFL.com, NBA.com, Infoseek (partial ownership), and Disney Interactive.
Viacom. Number three on the list, with 2003 revenues of just over $26.5 billion, is Viacom, Inc., headed by Sumner Redstone (born Murray Rothstein), a Jew. Melvin A. Karmazin, another Jew, was number two at Viacom until June 2004, holding the positions of president and chief operating officer. Karmazin remains a large Viacom shareholder. Replacing Karmazin as co-presidents and co-COOs are a Jew, Leslie Moonves, and Tom Freston, a possible Jew. (We have been unable to confirm Freston’s Jewish ancestry; he has done work for Jewish organizations and was involved in the garment trade, a heavily Jewish industry, importing clothing from the Third World to the U.S. in the 1970s.)
Viacom produces and distributes TV programs for the three largest networks, owns 39 television stations outright with another 200 affiliates in its wholly-owned CBS Television Network, owns 185 radio stations in its Infinity radio group, and has over 1,500 affiliated stations through its CBS Radio Network. It produces feature films through Paramount Pictures, headed by Jewess Sherry Lansing (born Sherry Lee Heimann), who is planning to retire at the end of 2005.
NBC Universal. Another Jewish media mogul is Edgar Bronfman, Jr. He headed Seagram Company, Ltd., the liquor giant, until its recent merger with Vivendi. His father, Edgar Bronfman, Sr., is president of the World Jewish Congress.
Seagram owned Universal Studios and later purchased Interscope Records, the foremost promoter of “gangsta rap,” from Warner. Universal and Interscope now belong to Vivendi Universal, which merged with NBC in May 2004, with the parent company now called NBC Universal.
Bronfman became the biggest man in the record business in May 1998 when he also acquired control of PolyGram, the European record giant, by paying $10.6 billion to the Dutch electronics manufacturer Philips.
In June 2000, the Bronfman family traded Seagram to Vivendi for stock in Vivendi, and Edgar, Jr. became vice chairman of Vivendi. Vivendi was originally a French utilities company, and was then led by Gentile Jean-Marie Messier. A board of directors faction led by Bronfman forced Messier to resign in July 2002.

Vivendi also acquired bisexual Jew Barry Diller’s USA Networks in 2002. (Diller is the owner of InterActive Corporation, which owns Expedia, Ticketmaster, The Home Shopping Network, Lending Tree, Hotels.com, CitySearch, Evite, Match.com, and other Internet businesses.) Vivendi combined the USA Network, Universal Studios, Universal Television, and theme parks into Vivendi Universal Entertainment (VUE).
Fox Television Network. Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation owns Fox Television Network, Fox News, the FX Channel, 20th Century Fox Films, Fox 2000, and publisher Harper Collins. News Corp. is the fifth largest megamedia corporation in the nation, with 2003 revenues of approximately $19.2 billion. It is the only other media company which comes close to the top four.
Its Fox News Channel has been a key outlet pushing the Jewish neoconservative agenda that lies behind the Iraq War and which animates both the administration of George W. Bush and the “new conservatism” that embraces aggressive Zionism and multiracialism.
Murdoch is nominally a Gentile, but there is some uncertainty about his ancestry and he has vigorously supported Zionism and other Jewish causes throughout his life. (Historian David Irving has published information from a claimed high-level media source who says that Murdoch’s mother, Elisabeth Joy Greene, was Jewish, but we have not been able to confirm this.) Murdoch’s number two executive is Peter Chernin, who is president and chief operating officer, and a Jew.
Most of the television and movie production companies that are not owned by the large media corporations are also controlled by Jews.
For example, Spyglass, an “independent” film producer which has made such films as The Sixth Sense, The Insider, and Shanghai Noon, is controlled by its Jewish founders Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, who are co-chairmen. Jonathan Glickman serves as president and Paul Neinstein is executive vice president. Both men are Jews. Spyglass makes movies exclusively for DreamWorks SKG.
One major studio, Columbia Pictures, is owned by the Japanese multinational firm Sony. Nevertheless, the studio’s chairman is Jewess Amy Pascal, and its output fully reflects the Jewish social agenda. Sony’s music division recently merged with European music giant BMG to form Sony BMG Music Entertainment, now one of the world’s largest music distributors. It is headed by CEO Andrew Lack, formerly president and CEO of NBC, and a Jew. Sony’s overall American operations are headed by a Jew named Howard Stringer, formerly of CBS, who hired Lack.
The Print Media. After television news, daily newspapers are the most influential information medium in America. About 58 million of them are sold (and presumably read) each day. These millions are divided among some 1,456 different publications.
The Associated Press (AP), which sells content to newspapers, is currently under the control of its Jewish vice president and managing editor, Michael Silverman, who directs the day-to-day news reporting and supervises the editorial departments. Silverman had directed the AP’s national news as assistant managing editor, beginning in 1989. Jewess Ann Levin is AP’s national news editor. Silverman and Levin are under Jonathan Wolman, also a Jew, who was promoted to senior vice president of AP in November 2002.
Jewish Newhouse family’s media empire provides an example of more than the lack of real competition among America’s daily newspapers: it also illustrates the insatiable appetite Jews have shown for all the organs of opinion control on which they could fasten their grip. The Newhouses own 31 daily newspapers, including several large and important ones, such as the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Newark Star-Ledger, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune; Newhouse Broadcasting, consisting of television stations and cable operations; the Sunday supplement Parade, with a circulation of more than 35 million copies per week; some two dozen major magazines, including The New Yorker, Vogue, Wired, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Bride’s, Gentlemen’s Quarterly, Self, House & Garden, and all the other magazines of the wholly-owned Conde Nast group. The staffing of the magazines is, as you might expect, quite Kosher. Parade can serve as an example: Its publisher is Randy Siegel, its editor and senior vice president is Lee Kravitz, its creative director is Ira Yoffe, its science editor is David H. Levy, and its health editor is Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld.
The New York Times, with a 2003 circulation of 1,119,000, is the unofficial social, fashion, entertainment, political, and cultural guide of the nation. It tells America’s “smart set” which books to buy and which films to see; which opinions are in style at the moment; which politicians, educators, spiritual leaders, artists, and businessmen are the real comers. And for a few decades in the 19th century it was a genuinely American newspaper.
The New York Times was founded in 1851 by two Gentiles, Henry J. Raymond and George Jones. After their deaths, it was purchased in 1896 from Jones’s estate by a wealthy Jewish publisher, Adolph Ochs. His great-great-grandson, Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., is the paper’s current publisher and the chairman of the New York Times Co. Russell T. Lewis, also a Jew, is president and chief executive officer of The New York Times Company. Michael Golden, another Jew, is vice chairman. Martin Nisenholtz, a Jew, runs their massive Internet operations.
The Sulzberger family also owns, through the New York Times Co., 33 other newspapers, including the Boston Globe, purchased in June 1993 for $1.1 billion; eight TV and two radio broadcasting stations; and more than 40 news-oriented Web operations. It also publishes the International Herald Tribune, the most widely distributed English-language daily in the world. The New York Times News Service transmits news stories, features, and photographs from the New York Times by wire to 506 other newspapers, news agencies, and magazines.
The Washington Post, like the New York Times, had a non-Jewish origin. It was established in 1877 by Stilson Hutchins, purchased from him in 1905 by John R. McLean, and later inherited by Edward B. McLean. In June 1933, however, at the height of the Great Depression, the newspaper was forced into bankruptcy. It was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Eugene Meyer, a Jewish financier and former partner of the infamous Bernard Baruch, a Jew who was industry czar in America during the First World War. The Washington Post was run by Katherine Meyer Graham, Eugene Meyer’s daughter, until her death in 2001. She was the principal stockholder and board chairman of the Washington Post Company; and she appointed her son, Donald Graham, publisher of the paper in 1979. Donald became Washington Post Company CEO in 1991 and its board chairman in 1993, and the chain of Jewish control at the Post remains unbroken. The newspaper has a daily circulation of 732,000, and its Sunday edition sells over one million copies.
The Washington Post Company has a number of other media holdings in newspapers (the Gazette Newspapers, including 11 military publications); in television (WDIV in Detroit, KPRC in Houston, WPLG in Miami, WKMG in Orlando, KSAT in San Antonio, WJXT in Jacksonville); and in magazines, most notably the nation’s number-two weekly newsmagazine, Newsweek.
The Wall Street Journal sells 1,820,000 copies each weekday and is owned by Dow Jones & Company, Inc., a New York corporation that also publishes 33 other newspapers and the weekly financial tabloid Barron’s. The chairman and CEO of Dow Jones is Peter R. Kann, who is a Jew. Kann also holds the posts of chairman and publisher of the Wall Street Journal.
Most of New York’s other major newspapers are in no better hands than the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. In January 1993 the New York Daily News (circulation 729,000) was bought from the estate of the late Jewish media mogul Robert Maxwell (born Ludvik Hoch) by Jewish real-estate developer Mortimer B. Zuckerman. Another Jew, Les Goodstein, is the president and chief operating officer of the New York Daily News. And, as mentioned above, the neocon-slanted New York Post (circulation 652,000) is owned by News Corporation under the supervision of Jew Peter Chernin.
Time, with a weekly circulation of 4.1 million, is published by a subsidiary of Time Warner Communications, the news media conglomerate formed by the 1989 merger of Time, Inc., with Warner Communications. The editor-in-chief of Time Warner Communication is Norman Pearlstein, a Jew.
Newsweek, as mentioned above, is published by the Washington Post Company, under the Jew Donald Graham. Its weekly circulation is 3.2 million.
U.S. News and World Report, with a weekly circulation of 2.0 million, is owned and published by the aforementioned Mortimer B. Zuckerman, who also has taken the position of editor-in-chief of the magazine for himself. Zuckerman also owns New York’s tabloid newspaper, the Daily News, which is the sixth-largest paper in the nation.

MEDIA: ‘A DISPROPORTIONATE INFLUENCE’
Although not in control of the media and the arts, as some anti-Semites suggest, Jews clearly possess a disproportionate influence in movies, publishing, advertising and theater. In the media, according to one survey in the 1970s, one quarter of the leading figures were Jewish, more than ten times their percentage in the general population. [Joel Kotkin, Tribes, p. 61]

‘THE REAL POWER IN HOLLYWOOD’
Jewish power in Hollywood no longer centers on those who own the studios but on the assorted agents, independent producers and writers who increasingly dominate the industry, including promoters such as Arnon Milchan, Michael Ovitz and David Geffen, a former [talent] agent and record producer whom Forbes in 1990 identified as “the richest man in Hollywood”. Traditional Jewish skills in selling, marketing, assembling the various “elements” needed for mounting a production remain critical. ... Margo Bernay, a craft union business agent whose family first started commuting to Hollywood from the old Jewish neighborhoods of East Los Angeles in the 1930s, observes: “If you look at the real power in this town it’s the agents, the producers; it’s not with the studios. In the old days the studios owned the talent; now the talent owns the studios. So that’s where the Jews are, where the creativity is, the talent, the glamour, the power. It’s the sechel [reason] side of the business, the mentality. BUYING INTO PROFESSIONAL SPORTS
Jewish billionaires in the 1990s demonstrated that they had arrived at the pinnacle of social prowess and cultural importance by buying professional sports teams, hitherto the proud preserve of WASP and Irish magnates. By 1993 the New York football Giants, the most honored name in professional sports, two other National Football League teams, and two of the major league baseball franchises were in Jewish hands.

One of these Jewish owners carried so much weight with the other owners that he
engineered the firing of the baseball commissioner and took over as acting commissioner, representing the owners before a congressional committee.

In the 1930s American Jews had thought they were doing well when they produced a

THE POWER OF THE PRESS
As in Berlin and Vienna before Hitler, the Jewish role in publishing was an important one. By 1950 Jewish families owned two of the three most influential newspapers in the United States, the New York Times and the Washington Post. ‘THE POWER OF THE WORD’
It is true that Jews are represented in the media business in numbers far out of proportion to their share of the population. Studies have shown that while Jews make up little more than 5 percent of the working press nationwide —hardly more than their share of the population— they make up one fourth or more of the writers, editors, and producers in America’s “elite media”, including network news divisions, the top newsweeklies and the four leading daily papers (New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal). In the fast-evolving world of media mega-corporations, Jews are even more numerous.

In an October 1994 Vanity Fair feature profiling the kingpins of the new media elite, titled “The New Establishment”, just under half of the two-dozen entrepreneurs profiled were Jews. In the view of the magazine’s editors, these are America’s true power elite, “men and women from the entertainment, communications and computer industries, whose ambitions and influence have made America the one true superpower of the Information Age”.

And in a few key sectors of the media, notably among Hollywood studio executives, Jews are so numerically dominant that calling these businesses Jewish-controlled is little more than a statistical observation.

“If there is Jewish power, it’s the power of the word, the power of Jewish columnists and Jewish opinion makers,” says Eugene Fisher, director of Catholic-Jewish relations at the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, and one of the Jewish community’s staunchest defenders in religious Christian circles. “The Jewish community is a very literate community, and it has a lot to say. MEDIA CLOUT MEANS POLITICAL INFLUENCE
For all of the rank anti-Semitism lurking in the Jewish-conspiracy theories, the notion of Jewish influence in the media is not necessarily anti-Semitic in and of itself. The awkward fact is that, indeed, “the Jews invented Hollywood,” as historian Neal Gabler put it in the unfortunate subtitle of his 1988 historical study, An Empire of Their Own. The movie camera was invented by non-Jews, but the Hollywood dream factory was created by a handful of immigrant Jewish entrepreneurs. They saw the motion picture’s potential as a storytelling device, and they built the studios, distribution systems, and movie theaters to promote it nationwide.

These few ... turned a technological curiosity into a multibillion-dollar industry.

A generation later, a young group of Jewish entrepreneurs did the same thing with the radio transmitter, the microphone, and the television camera. ...

Hollywood at the end of the twentieth century is still an industry with a pronounced ethnic tinge. Virtually all the senior executives at the major studios are Jews. Writers, producers, and to a lesser degree directors are disproportionately Jewish—one recent study showed the figure as high as 59 percent among top-grossing films.

The combined weight of so many Jews in one of America’s most lucrative and important industries gives the Jews of Hollywood a great deal of political power. ... But the same could be said, to a much greater degree, of other industries with significant concentrations of Jews: Wall Street, New York real estate, or the garment industry.

In each of those industries, Jews make up a significant bloc—an important minority on Wall Street, near majorities in clothing and commercial real estate—and have translated their clout into a visible presence on the political scene. PRO-ISRAEL COLUMNISTS AND COMMENTATORS

Writing on MSNBC.com on April 2, 2003, Jewish-American writer Eric Alterman provided a fascinating overview of the preponderance of pro-Israel commentary that appears amongst columnists and commentators in the American media, not all of whom (obviously) are Jewish, but who —in most cases— workfor media outlets that, in many cases, are either owned outright by Jewish financial interests or which are heavily influenced by the Jewish community. The list provided by Alterman follows, although a considerably smaller list of other columnists who are critical of Israel—including such obvious names as Pat Buchanan—has not been included. Please note that the prefatory descriptive material preceding the various lists of names is Alterman’s terminology, although we have noted those columnists who are not known to be Jewish by rendering their proper names in italics. Clearly, Alterman’s lists are very instructive indeed, demonstrating beyond any question that—when it comes to the issue of the media’s reportage of the Middle East question—a predominant Jewish and pro-Israel bias is in place.

The names on Alterman’s lists are virtually the “cream of the crop” of the elite media in America. Anyone who would suggest that there is not a pro-Israel bias on the part of the elite media commentators is speaking from an agenda and therefore to be dismissed.

Needless to say, not all of the names on Alterman’s lists are Jewish by any means, so it cannot be suggested that “Only Jewish columnists are pro-Israel.” In fact, there are many non-Jewish writers who have adopted a slavish, pro-Israel stance and, if truth be told, it’s been quite good for their careers.

BELZBERG. Canada-New York-Israel. Sam Belzberg heads Gibralter Capital corporation. Wife: Frances. Daughter Wendy (an editor at the influential Jewish newspaper, Forward, is married to Strauss Zelnick, head of BMG Records. Daughter Lisa is married to Matthew Bronfman (See BRONFMAN). The family [members] are original financial backers of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Their former rabbi, Marvin Heir, left Canada to go to Los Angeles where Heir set up the Center.

BLOOMBERG. New York. Elected mayor of New York City in 2001, Michael Bloomberg started out at Salomon Brothers and went on to establish a multimedia empire providing stories to newspapers and a 24-hour direct satellite television network.

CARTER. Victor Carter is said to have “specialized in the turnaround of ailing companies” but is best known for heading the United Way, City of Hope and Israel Bonds. His wife Andrea has been involved in—of all things—the Country Music Commission.

EISNER. Los Angeles. Michael Eisner engineered the merger between Capital Cities, owner of ABC and other properties. Took over Walt Disney Company in 1984. The grandson of the co-founder of the American Safety Razor Co.

GOLD. Los Angeles. Stanley Gold heads Shamrock Holdings, a diversified investment company associated with the Disney heirs. A major investor in Koor Industries, Israel’s largest industrial company. Gold has son Charles and daughter Jennifer.

HOFFMAN. Dallas, Texas. Edmund Hoffman made his fortune as the leading (Dallas-based) Coca-Cola bottler and distributor in Southwest Texas. Son Richard is a well-known physician in Colorado. Son Robert was one of the founders of the National Lampoon humor magazine.

LEVIN. New York. Gerald Levin, who rose to become CEO of the Bronfman family-controlled Time Warner empire, started out as a lieutenant of Lewis Strauss, the Jewish chief of the Atomic Energy Commission. Although there’s nothing in the public record to suggest it, it’s a good bet that Levin and Strauss had a hand in “helping” Israel achieve atomic weapons. Today Levin is a member of the Rockefeller-funded Council on Foreign Relations. A major media figure indeed.

MILSTEIN. New York. The Circle Floor Company, founded by Morris Milstein, laid the floors in Rockefeller Center and the United Nations, but Morris’s sons Seymour and Paul developed the family firm, Milstein Properties, into a major real estate enterprise, owning hotels, offices and apartments. They also controlled the international United Brands empire for a period and in 1986 bought the Emigrant Savings Bank. Family members Howard and Edward control Douglas Elliman, a building management and brokerage concern, and the Liberty Cable Television Company.

REDSTONE. New York. Born “Rothstein”, Sumner Redstone took over his father’s movie theater chain and expanded it to nearly 900 affiliates. In 1987 he orchestrated the leveraged buyout of Viacom, Inc., which is one of the major global media enterprises, controlling Paramount Studios, Blockbuster Video, Simon & Schuster, Nickelodeon and MTV. His daughter Shari Redstone is increasingly involved in her father’s empire.

ROSENWALD. Chicago-New Orleans. Julius Rosenwald made his fortune by grabbing control of Sears & Roebuck, the catalog giant. His son Lessing, however, upset many in the American Jewish community by being a major supporter of anti-Zionist causes. Daughter Edith, who was a major supporter of “civil rights” causes in the South, operating out of a fabulous mansion in New Orleans modeled after “Tara” in Gone With the Wind, married into the Stern family. Her family ran the WDSU media empire in New Orleans and were close personal friends of Clay Shaw, prosecuted by New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison, for involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. (See Final Judgment by this author, Michael Collins Piper, for further details about the strange role of the Stern family in the affairs surrounding Shaw and accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.) The family is quite large and remains active in real estate and cable television.

SCHEUER. New York. A gas and coal company and New York real estate provided the foundation for this family’s wealth. One family member, James, served in Congress. Walter is an investment manager and documentary producer. Steven is a media critic. Amy is a psychotherapist. Richard has chaired the board of governors of Hebrew Union College and finances archeological digs in Palestine.

SIMON. Indianapolis. One of the five biggest shopping mall empires in the country —the second largest, in fact— is the basis of the fortune of brothers Melvin and Howard Simon who developed 62 malls and 55 shopping centers. In 1996 their holdings grew even larger when they merged with the (non-Jewish) DeBartolo Realty Corp. Mel co-owns the Pacers basketball team and has produced “trash” films such as Porky’s. His son David, who had been an investment banker at CS First Boston and Wasserstein, Perella, is now assuming a role in the family business which includes the famous Mall of America in Minneapolis, at one time certainly the largest mall in America.

SKIRBALL. Los Angeles. Jack Skirball was a rabbi, a real estate developer and a film producer —three professions of interest to all good Jewish boys, it seems. His wealthy family remains active in Jewish affairs in California.

RICHARD SMITH. Boston. Based in New England, the General Cinema movie chain expanded to take control of Neiman-Marcus (the Dallas-based department store) along with Harcourt Brace Publishing (now Harcourt General). General Cinema is now known as GC Cos. Robert Smith, son of Richard, has taken over the family’s affairs. The family is described as “very low profile”.

SPIELBERG. Los Angeles. Everyone knows the name of Stephen Spielberg, the movie legend responsible for a wide array of popular films, not to mention Schindler’s List. His primary company is Dreamworks SKG. Amblin Entertainment is another part of the Spielberg empire.

STEINBERG. New York. Saul Steinberg made a fortune through Leasco, a computer leasing firm, and then went big time with Reliance Insurance, which he purchased in 1968. His brother Robert and brother-in-law Bruce Sokoloff were heavily involved in family affairs. His daughter Laura is married to Jonathan Tisch of the powerful Tisch media empire (See TISCH.) His son Jonathan is owner of Financial Data which publishes Individual Investor magazine.

STEINHARDT. New York. Hedge-fund manager/tycoon Michael Steinhardt has a “passion”, it is said: that being “Jewish continuity”. Even though he “an avowed atheist” according to Avenue magazine, Steinhardt is still “yet one of America’s biggest supporters of Jewish and Israel causes”. He is a financier behind Forward, the influential New York-based Jewish weekly.

STONEMAN. Boston. Samuel Stoneman was vice chairman of the board of General Cinema Corporation. His daughters are Jane Stein and Elizabeth Deknatel. They run the family’s foundation.

TISCH. New York. Leading supporters of Israel, best known today for their control of the CBS broadcasting empire, Lawrence and Preston Tisch were among the most powerful Jews in America, although Lawrence recently died. Loews, CAN Financial, Lorillard and Bulova are all part of the Tisch empire. Lawrence had sons James, Daniel, Tom and Andrew, the latter involved in the executive committee of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Preston, who owns the Giants team, served as postmaster general of the United States. His son Steve is a filmmaker and his son Jonathan is the president of Loew’s hotels.

WASSERMAN. Los Angeles. The late Lou Wasserman, longtime head of MCA, the entertainment conglomerate, was —along with his partner, Jules Stein— a sponsor of the rise to fame (in films and in politics) of Ronald Reagan. He has been called the “king” of Hollywood.

WOLFSON. Miami. The Wolfson-Meyer Theater Company became Wometco and in 1984 was acquired by Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Company after having established itself as a pioneer in motion picture and television broadcasting in the 1920s. The investment firms Wolfson Initiative Corporation and the Novecentro Corporation are parts of the family empire. Family members include Louis III and Mitchell. The best known Wolfson was the infamous Louis who became entangled in an unpleasant scandal involving former U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas who was taking money from the Wolfson family foundation.







WHO RULES AMERICA?

There is no greater power in the world today than that wielded by the manipulators of public opinion in America. No king or pope of old, no conquering general or high priest ever disposed of a power even remotely approaching that of the few dozen men who control America's mass news and entertainment media.
Their power is not distant and impersonal; it reaches into every home in America, and it works its will during nearly every waking hour. It is the power which shapes and molds the mind of virtually every citizen, young or old, rich or poor, simple or sophisticated.
The mass media form for us our image of the world and then tell us what to think about that image. Essentially everything we know -- or think we know -- about events outside our own neighborhood or circle of acquaintances comes to us via our daily newspaper, our weekly news magazine, our radio, or our television.
It is not just the heavy-handed suppression of certain news stories from our newspapers or the blatant propagandizing of history-distorting TV "docudramas" which characterizes the opinion-manipulating techniques of the media masters. They exercise both subtlety and thoroughness in their management of both the news and the entertainment which they present to us.
For example, the way in which the news is covered: which items are emphasized and which are played down, the reporter's choice of words, tone of voice, and facial expressions; the wording of headlines; the choice of illustrations -- all of these things subliminally and yet profoundly affect the way in which we interpret what we see or hear.
On top of this, of course, the columnists and editors remove any remaining doubt from our minds as to just what we are to think about it all. Employing carefully developed psychological techniques, they guide our thought and opinion so that we can be in tune with the "in" crowd, the "beautiful people," the "smart money." They let us know exactly what our attitudes should be toward various types of people and behavior by placing those people or that behavior in the context of a TV drama or situation comedy and having the other TV characters react to them in the Politically Correct way. (...)

Television Broadcasting

And who are these all-powerful masters of the media?
For a partial answer, consider television broadcasting, which undoubtedly has become the most powerful medium for determining the way Americans think and behave.
Not counting certain specialized cable news systems, virtually all national and international TV news broadcast in the United States is gathered, filmed, edited, and put on the air by just three companies: American Broadcasting Companies (ABC), Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), and National Broadcasting Company (NBC). Most televised entertainment programs viewed by Americans are broadcast by the same three networks. Each of these three has been under the absolute control of a single man over a long enough period of time -- ranging from 32 years to 55 years -- for him to staff the corporation at every level with officers of his choosing and thus to place his imprint finally, totally, and indelibly upon it.
In each case that man has been a Jew.
Until 1985, when ABC merged with Capital Cities Communications, Inc., a New York-based media conglomerate, the chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer (CEO) of the network was Leonard Harry Goldenson, a Jew. He had headed the network since he became president of the predecessor corporation, American Broadcasting-Paramount Theaters, Inc., in 1953. (The name was changed to American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., in 1965.) In an interview published in the April 1, 1985, issue of Newsweek, Goldenson boasted, "I built this company [ABC] from scratch."
Under the 1985 merger terms, Goldenson became chairman of the executive committee of the new company, Capital Cities/ABC, Inc.
Although the chairman and CEO of Capital Cities now is Thomas Murphy, a Gentile, he has made no move to replace the men at ABC who served Goldenson, and the network retains its Jewish character today.
CBS was under the domination of William S. Paley for more than half a century. The son of immigrant Jews from Russia, Paley left the family cigar business in 1928, when he was 27, to buy United Independent Broadcasters for $500,000. He renamed it Columbia Broadcasting System and made himself president. He became chairman of the board in 1946 and held that post until his partial retirement in 1983.
When independent broadcaster Ted Turner, a Gentile, made a bid to buy CBS in 1985, there was panic in media boardrooms across the nation. Turner had made a fortune in advertising and then had built a successful cable-TV news network, CNN. Although Turner employed a number of Jews in key executive positions in CNN and had never taken public positions contrary to Jewish interests, he is a man with a large ego and a strong personality and was regarded by Paley and the other Jews at CBS as uncontrollable: a loose cannon who might at some time in the future turn against them. Furthermore, Jewish newsman Daniel Schorr, who had worked for Turner, publicly charged that his former boss held a personal dislike for Jews.
To block Turner's bid CBS executives invited billionaire Jewish theater, hotel, insurance, and cigarette magnate Laurence Tisch to launch a "friendly" takeover of the company, and since 1986 Tisch has been the chairman and CEO of CBS, removing any threat of non-Jewish influence there.
NBC was formerly a subsidiary of Radio Corporation of America (RCA), which was controlled for 40 years, beginning in 1930, by David Sarnoff, another Jewish immigrant from Russia. When Sarnoff died in 1970 his son Robert took over. In 1986 General Electric Co. merged with RCA, and now NBC is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric.
There has been no move by top G-E management to change the Jewish "profile" of NBC or to replace key Jewish personnel. To the contrary, new Jewish executives have been added: examples are Steve Friedman, hired in May 1990 as executive producer of NBC Nightly News and succeeded in January 1993 by Jeff Zuker.

Entertainment Industry

The extraordinary concentration of Jews in the TV industry certainly explains much of the bias of television news. As important as the control of television news programming is, however, television entertainment is even more decisive in determining the way Americans think. Tens of millions of Americans, especially younger ones, never watch network TV news broadcasts, but instead keep their sets tuned to the entertainment programs. And it is in the entertainment field that Jews have maintained the firmest control.
The man in charge of the television entertainment division at CBS is Jeff Sagansky. At ABC the entertainment division is run by two men: Ted Harbert handles the business end of the division, and Stuart Bloomberg is in charge of entertainment programming. Brandon Tartikoff became president of NBC Entertainment in 1980 and held that post for a decade, until he was promoted to chairman in 1990. When he left NBC in July 1991 to take the post of chairman at Paramount Pictures the new president of NBC Entertainment, Warren Littlefield, assumed control.
Sagansky, Bloomberg, and Littlefield pick the programs their networks will broadcast: the game shows, the interview shows, the situation comedies, the historical "docudramas," the family series, the adventure series, the specials. They tell the program developers what they want to see in the programs. They veto anything they don't like. They determine the slant each program will have. They decide just how hard to push various propaganda themes in their network programming: interracial marriage, homosexuality, feminism, gun control, "Holocaust" re-enactments, the menace of "White extremism."
Only one in 36 U.S. citizens (2.8 per cent) is a Jew. But nearly all of the men who shape young Americans' concept of reality, of good and evil, of permissible and impermissible behavior are Jews. In particular, Sagansky and Bloomberg are Jews. So is Tartikoff. Littlefield is the only Gentile who has had a significant role in TV entertainment programming in recent years. This Jewish control of the American entertainment industry and its influence on the American psyche goes far beyond television programming for the major networks; it also includes virtually everything which comes out of Hollywood's film studios. The May 1990 issue of American Film magazine listed the top 10 (in terms of gross revenues in 1989) U.S. entertainment companies and their CEOs and ranked them by size. They were, in descending order, Time Warner Communications (Steven J. Ross), Walt Disney Co. (Michael D. Eisner), NBC (Robert C. Wright), Paramount Communications (Martin S. Davis), CBS (Laurence A. Tisch), 20th Century Fox Film Corp. (Barry Diller), Columbia Pictures Entertainment (Victor A. Kaufman), Viacom Inc. (Sumner Redstone), Capital Cities/ABC (Thomas S. Murphy), and MCA Inc. (Lew Wasserman). Of the 10 top entertainment CEOs listed above, eight -- Ross, Eisner, Davis, Tisch, Diller, Kaufman, Redstone, and Wasserman -- are Jews. Only two of the top-10 entertainment companies have Gentile CEOs -- NBC and Capital Cities/ABC -- and one of those -- Capital Cities/ABC -- has a Jew in charge of its entertainment division.
There have been a few personnel changes since the 1989 survey, of course. When Japan's Sony Corporation of America bought Columbia Pictures in October 1989, Victor Kaufman was replaced by Peter Guber, also a Jew. Guber's overseer is Sony's vice-chairman Michael P. Schulhof, who arranged the takeover; he is a Jew too. In 1991 MCA was bought by Matsushita, one of Sony's Japanese rivals, but Wasserman remains in his old post. As a general rule, the Japanese are motivated solely by economic interests in their buying of American media, and they leave the propaganda to the Jews. More often than not, in fact, Jews are the brokers of such Japanese media buyouts. Just as Schulhof handled the Sony takeover of Columbia, the Matsushita-MCA deal was arranged by Jewish media magnate Michael Ovitz and Texas-Jewish wheeler-dealer Robert Strauss, later appointed as George Bush's ambassador to Moscow. Steven J. Ross died in December 1992, and now the top post at Time Warner is held by CEO (and chairman) Gerald Levin, also a Jew.
Barry Diller left Fox in February 1992. Rupert Murdoch, owner of News Corporation, Fox's parent company, took a hand in the management of Fox for a few months, but in November 1992 Peter Chernin, formerly head of the Fox Entertainment division, moved up to the top job as chairman of 20th Century Fox Films Corp. Chernin is a Jew. Under him, as president of Fox Entertainment Group since November 1992, is Sandy Grushow, also a Jew.
And Sumner Redstone (born Murray Rothstein) has gained much prominence since 1989, as two of his Viacom subsidiaries, MTV and Nickelodeon, have acquired larger and larger shares of the juvenile television audience. Redstone, who actually owns 76 per cent of the shares of Viacom ($3 billion), is the largest single purveyor of race-mixing propaganda to White teenagers and sub-teens in America and Europe. MTV pumps its racially mixed rock and rap videos into 210 million homes in 71 countries and is the dominant cultural influence on White teenagers around the world. Nickelodeon has by far the largest share of the four-to-11-year-old TV audience in America and also is expanding rapidly into Europe; most of its shows do not yet display the blatant degeneracy which is MTV's trademark, but Redstone is gradually nudging the fare presented to his kiddie viewers toward the same poison purveyed by MTV.
It is difficult to believe that such an overwhelming degree of control of the entertainment industry by Jews came about without a deliberate, concerted effort on their part.

Radio Broadcasting

The "big three" TV networks -- ABC, CBS, and NBC -- not only have a virtual monopoly on commercial network television broadcasting in the United States; they account for most of commercial network radio broadcasting as well -- or they did until recently. For many years their only significant competitor in the latter arena, Mutual Broadcasting System (MBS), with 941 affiliated radio stations (but no TV stations) across the country, was headed by Martin Rubenstein, a Jew. In 1985 Norman J. Pattiz, also a Jew, took over MBS as chairman and CEO. Two years later Pattiz, through his holding company, Westwood One, Inc., bought the NBC Radio Network from General Electric. The MBS and NBC stations together make Pattiz the number-two radio broadcaster in the nation, behind only Capital Cities/ABC. The current MBS vice-president in charge of news broadcasting, Ron Nessen, who formerly held the position of White House press secretary under Gerald Ford, is also a Jew.

Newspapers

After television, daily newspapers are the most influential mass medium in America. Sixty-three million of them are sold (and presumably read) each day. These millions are divided among some 1,640 different publications. One might conclude that the sheer number of different newspapers across America would provide a safeguard against minority control and distortion. Alas, such is not the case. There is less independence, less competition, and much less representation of majority interests than a casual observer would think.
Only 412 (25 per cent) of the 1,640 publications are independently owned; the rest belong to multi-newspaper chains. Only 121 of the total number have circulations of more than 100,000. Only a handful are large enough to maintain independent reporting staffs outside their own communities; the rest must depend on these few for all of their national and international news.
In only 54 cities in America are there more than one daily newspaper, and competition is frequently nominal even among them, as between morning and afternoon editions under the same ownership. Examples of this are the Huntsville, Alabama, morning News and afternoon Times; the Birmingham, Alabama, morning Post Herald and afternoon News; the Mobile, Alabama, morning Register and afternoon Press; the Springfield, Massachusetts, morning Union, afternoon News, and Sunday-only Republican; the Syracuse, New York, morning Post-Standard and afternoon Herald-Journal -- all owned by the Jewish Newhouse brothers through their holding company, Advance Publications.
The Newhouse media empire provides an example of more than the lack of real competition among America's daily newspapers; it also illustrates the insatiable appetite Jews have shown for all the organs of opinion control on which they could fasten their grip. The Newhouses own 31 daily newspapers, including several large and important ones, such as the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Newark Star-Ledger, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune; the nation's largest trade book publishing conglomerate, Random House, with all its subsidiaries; Newhouse Broadcasting, consisting of 12 television broadcasting stations and 87 cable-TV systems, including some of the country's largest cable networks; the Sunday supplement Parade, with a circulation of more than 22 million copies per week; some two dozen major magazines, including the New Yorker, Vogue, Mademoiselle, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Bride's, Gentlemen's Quarterly, Self, House & Garden, and all the other magazines of the wholly owned Conde Nast group.
This Jewish media empire was founded by the late Samuel Newhouse, an immigrant from Russia. When he died in 1979 at the age of 84, he bequeathed media holdings worth an estimated $1.3 billion to his two sons, Samuel and Donald. With a number of further acquisitions, the net worth of Advance Publications has grown to more than $8 billion today.
The gobbling up of so many newspapers by the Newhouse family was in large degree made possible by the fact that newspapers are not supported by their subscribers, but by their advertisers. It is advertising revenue -- not the small change collected from a newspaper's readers -- that largely pays the editor's salary and yields the owner's profit.
Whenever the large advertisers in a city choose to favor one newspaper over another with their business, the favored newspaper will flourish while its competitor dies. Since the beginning of this century, when Jewish mercantile power in America became a dominant economic force, there has been a steady rise in the number of American newspapers in Jewish hands, accompanied by a steady decline in the number of competing Gentile newspapers -- primarily as a result of selective advertising policies by Jewish merchants.
Furthermore, even those newspapers still under Gentile ownership and management are so thoroughly dependent upon Jewish advertising revenue that their editorial and news reporting policies are largely constrained by Jewish likes and dislikes. It holds true in the newspaper business as elsewhere that he who pays the piper calls the tune.

Three Jewish Newspapers

The suppression of competition and the establishment of local monopolies on the dissemination of news and opinion have characterized the rise of Jewish control over America's newspapers. The resulting ability of the Jews to use the press as an unopposed instrument of Jewish policy could hardly be better illustrated than by the examples of the nation's three most prestigious and influential newspapers: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. These three, dominating America's financial and political capitals, are the newspapers which set the trends and the guidelines for nearly all the others. They are the ones which decide what is news and what isn't, at the national and international levels. They originate the news; the others merely copy it. And all three newspapers are in Jewish hands.
The New York Times is the unofficial social, fashion, entertainment, political, and cultural guide of the nation. It tells America's "smart set" which books to buy and which films to see; which opinions are in style at the moment; which politicians, educators, spiritual leaders, artists, and businessmen are the real comers. And for a few decades in the last century it was a genuinely American newspaper.
The New York Times was founded in 1851 by two Gentiles, Henry J. Raymond and George Jones. After their deaths, it was purchased in 1896 from Jones's estate by a wealthy Jewish publisher, Adolph Ochs. His great-grandson, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr., is the paper's current publisher and CEO. The executive editor is Max Frankel, and the managing editor is Joseph Lelyveld. Both are Jews.
The Sulzberger family also owns, through the New York Times Co., 33 other newspapers, including the Boston Globe, purchased in June 1993 for $1.1 billion; twelve magazines, including McCall's and Family Circle with circulations of more than 5 million each; seven radio and TV broadcasting stations; a cable-TV system; and three book publishing companies. The New York Times News Service transmits news stories, features, and photographs from the New York Times by wire to 506 other newspapers, news agencies, and magazines. Of similar national importance is the Washington Post, which, by establishing its "leaks" throughout government agencies in Washington, has an inside track on news involving the Federal government.
The Washington Post, like the New York Times, had a non-Jewish origin. It was established in 1877 by Stilson Hutchins, purchased from him in 1905 by John R. McLean, and later inherited by Edward B. McLean. In June 1933, however, at the height of the Great Depression, the newspaper was forced into bankruptcy. It was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Eugene Meyer, a Jewish financier and former partner of the infamous Bernard Baruch, industry czar in America during the First World War.
The Washington Post is now run by Katherine Meyer Graham, Eugene Meyer's daughter. She is the principal stockholder and the board chairman of the Washington Post Co. In 1979 she appointed her son Donald publisher of the paper. He now also holds the posts of president and CEO of the Washington Post Co.
The Washington Post Co. has a number of other media holdings in newspapers, television, and magazines, most notably the nation's number-two weekly newsmagazine, Newsweek. The Wall Street Journal, which sells 2.1 million copies each weekday, is the nation's largest-circulation daily newspaper. It is owned by Dow Jones & Co., Inc., a New York corporation which also publishes 24 other daily newspapers and the weekly financial tabloid Barron's, among other things. The chairman and CEO of Dow Jones is Peter R. Kann, who is a Jew. Kann also holds the posts of chairman and publisher of the Wall Street Journal.
New York's other major newspapers are in no better hands than the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. In January 1993 the New York Daily News was bought from the estate of the late Jewish media mogul Robert Maxwell (born Ludvik Hoch) by Jewish real-estate developer Mortimer B. Zuckerman. The Village Voice is the personal property of Leonard Stern, the billionaire Jewish owner of the Hartz Mountain pet supply firm. The New York Post, suffering from severe financial problems, has been bouncing back and forth for a year among a succession of especially sleazy Jewish billionaires -- Peter Kalikow, Steven Hoffenberg, Abraham Hirshfeld -- and Australian newspaper mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Other Mass Media

The story is pretty much the same for other media as it is for television, radio, and newspapers. Consider, for example, newsmagazines. There are only three of any note published in the United States: Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report.
Time, with a weekly circulation of 4.1 million, is published by a subsidiary of Time Warner Communications, the new media conglomerate formed by the 1989 merger of Time Inc. with Warner Communications. The CEO of Time Warner Communications, as mentioned above, is Gerald Levin, a Jew.
Newsweek, as mentioned above, is published by the Washington Post Co., under the Jewess Katherine Meyer Graham. Its weekly circulation is 3.2 million.
U.S. News & World Report, with a weekly circulation of 2.3 million, is owned and published by the aforementioned Mortimer B. Zuckerman, who also has taken the position of editor-in-chief of the magazine for himself. Zuckerman also owns the Atlantic Monthly and New York's tabloid newspaper, the Daily News.
Or consider books. There are literally thousands of publishers in the United States, and among these thousands are many with little or no direct Jewish control; there are some which actually dare to publish books not approved by the Jewish Establishment. But all of the latter publishers are very small, and their books seldom reach the great mass of Americans who buy their reading material from drugstore news racks or from the chain bookstores.
Among the giant publishing conglomerates, however, the situation is quite kosher. Three of the six largest book publishers in the United States, according to Publishers Weekly, are owned or controlled by Jews. The three are first-place Random House (with its many subsidiaries, including Crown Publishing Group), third-place Simon & Schuster, and sixth-place Time Warner Trade Group (including Warner Books and Little, Brown).
As pointed out above, the Newhouse family owns Random House, and Gerald Levin is CEO of Time Warner Communications, of which Time Warner Trade Group is a division. Simon & Schuster is a subsidiary of Paramount Communications, Inc. (formerly Gulf and Western, Inc.), of whom the chairman and CEO is Martin S. Davis, as already noted.
Another publisher of special significance is Western Publishing. Although it ranks only 13th in size among all U.S. publishers, it ranks first among publishers of children's books, with more than 50 per cent of the market. Its chairman and CEO is Richard Bernstein, a Jew.
Those are the facts of media control in America. Anyone willing to spend a few hours in a large library looking into current editions of yearbooks on the radio and television industries and into directories of newspapers and magazines; into registers of corporations and their officers, such as those published by Standard and Poors and by Dun and Bradstreet; and into standard biographical reference works can verify their accuracy. They are undeniable, and when confronted with them Jewish spokesmen customarily will use evasive tactics. "Ted Turner isn't a Jew!" they will announce triumphantly, as if that settled the issue. If pressed further they will accuse the confronter of "anti-Semitism" for even raising the subject. It is fear of this accusation which keeps many persons silent who know the facts.
But we must not remain silent on this most important of issues! The Jewish control of the American mass media is the single most important fact of life, not just in America, but in the whole world today. There is nothing -- plague, famine, economic collapse, even nuclear war -- more dangerous to the future of our people.
By permitting the Jews to control our news and entertainment media we are doing more than merely giving them a decisive influence on our political system and virtual control of our government; we also are giving them control of the minds and souls of our children, whose attitudes and ideas are shaped more by Jewish television and Jewish films than by parents, schools, or any other influence.(...)

Today that empire, Advance Publications, is home to twenty-three daily newspapers of varying size, location, and quality; Condé Nast magazines, including Vanity Fair and The New Yorker; Fairchild Publications; Parade magazine; a chain of suburban weeklies; another of business tabs; a cable television partnership with Time Warner; and a growing online operation. Last year, Advertising Age ranked Advance the tenth largest U.S. media company, with estimated 1998 revenue of nearly $4 billion, more than half coming from its newspapers. One reason Newhouse newspapers can give editors such freedom and still make money is because most are dominant in their market. In Cleveland, for instance, Advance endured a 1985 grand jury investigation into allegations that it conspired to kill the Cleveland Press, which closed in 1982, giving The Plain Dealer what amounts to a metropolitan daily newspaper monopoly. Then, in 1998, Advance tightened its grip on northern Ohio with the purchase of Sun Newspapers, a chain of twenty-three zoned weeklies in suburban Cleveland. The Newhouses are clannish and tight-lipped about the family business. Family members are scattered throughout Advance, and each paper is assigned to a Newhouse overseer who visits monthly. Samuel I. Sr., who died in 1979, turned the operation over to his sons -- Samuel I. Jr., or Si, who handles the magazines, and Donald, who takes care of the newspapers. They are now gradually bringing in the next generation."

In truth, Miramax has made Disney an even bigger target than it already was. The problems with hardline Catholics started with a small British film, the Jimmy McGovern-scripted Priest, in which Linus Roache plays a gay priest. Although the film made a negligible impact among US audiences, Miramax - and by implication Disney - were branded as 'Catholic bashers'."

Arnon Milchan is an Israeli film producer in Hollywood behind the famous "Regency" production brand. The Los Angeles Magazine (April, 2000) writes: "Throughout the 1970s, '80s, and even up until the Gulf War in 1991, Milchan was Israel's foremost weapons procurer". The Hollywood producer Milchan was also involved in the cooperation and military arrangements between Apartheid South Africa and Israel, to circumvent the boycotts. Milchan told CBS "60 Minutes" (3/5/2000 edition): "I was playing an important role in the system of collecting money from South Africa, or transferring money, or helping South Africa in their financial transactions." According to "60 Minutes", some of the money Milchan moved around the world came from an illegal $100 million slush fund set up by the South African government used to buy off politicians and foreign media outlets critical of its policies.

In 1997, the United Jewish Appeal revealed the real colours of the Jewish community by awarding its "Humanitarian of the Year" award to media mogul Rupert Murdoch at a fund-raising dinner that raised $2.3 million for the organization. Mother Jones magazine wondered about the surreal moral reasoning behind the award: "The media baron is better known to labor and human rights groups for his union-busting and for catering to the Chinese government (in 1994 he yanked the BBC off his Asian satellite network because officials in Beijing were angered by its reporting on Chinese human rights violations)." "By what criteria has the UJA chosen the worldwide robber baron for this years' award over, say, Radovan Karadzic [accused of war crimes in Bosnia], or perhaps Larry Flynt [the pornographer]?" wondered Eric Alterman in the Nation, "... Murdoch was chosen, the UJA says, for his 'longtime support of the security of the state of Israel, his friendship for the Jewish people, and his support of UJA.'" Hollywood Is ‘Owned’ by the Arabs
New book by well-known Jewish writer exposes secret story behind popular mainstream legend and who first put the myth into circulation . . .

In recent years Internet icon Alex Jones rocked the world of independent media when he proclaimed his judgment that “Hollywood is owned by the Arabs.” In fact—many doubts about Jones’s declaration notwithstanding—this was not the first time a bigmedia voice put this theme before the American public.
As far back as 1976, the premise that “the Arabs” were grabbing control of the American media was central to the plot of a popular Hollywood motion picture called “Network.” This was the legendary film in which a fictional television news anchor, Howard Beale, went mad while live on the air and famously told his audience to shout out their windows the now-famous war-whoop:
“I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” Among Beales’s complaints was that the Arabs were taking over the American economy and the broadcast media in particular.
The film was a box-office blockbuster, widely touted by themassmedia, and it captured 10 Academy Award nominations, winning four, including the award for best actor, given posthumously to the late Peter Finch who starred as Beale, the so-called “mad prophet of the airwaves.”
But here’s the big secret about “Network,” and this won’t surprise the more savvy among AFP’s readers: The veteran screenwriter responsible for putting forth this thesis—that “Hollywood is owned by the Arabs”—was a fervent, long-time and quite publicly vocal American Jewish devotee of Israel, Sidney Aaron “Paddy” Chayefsky who, at one juncture, was actually writing—on an unpaid, volunteer basis—over-the-top, anti-Arab propaganda for the Anti-Defamation League, one of the leading focal points of the pro-Israel lobby in America.
Chayefsky was best known prior to “Network” for having won Academy Awards for two classic films, “Marty” in 1956 and “The Hospital” in 1972.
What is interesting, however, about Chayefsky’s production for the screenplay “Network” is that it came at a time when Chayefsky, who seldom focused on particular political causes, was nonetheless a hardline Zionist.
These as well as other little known details about Chayefsky appear in the pages of a new book by Jewish writer Dave Itzkoff, a media writer for The New York Times. Itzkoff’s book, Mad As Hell, is both a biography of Chayefsky and the fascinating inside story of the making of “Network.”
Within the pages of the book Itzkoff describes Chayefsky’s political focus. He writes of “a growing fixation on the affairs of Israel (that was) becoming increasingly apparent in Chayefsky’s public remarks, revealing a more aggressive and admittedly paranoid streak.”
In one interview Chayefsky claimed that all of the Jews in the world were, as Itzkoff put it, “in danger of imminent genocide” in 1971. This pro-Israel obsession resulted in Chayefsky’s work as a pro-Israel propagandist.
According to Itzkoff, “Privately, Chayefsky channeled his fervor into uncredited advertisements for the Anti-Defamation League, such as an announcement, published at the height of the 1973 oil crisis that warned ‘These Arabs would like you to believe that if we give in to their blackmail and change our Mideast policy that everything will be just like it used to be.’”
Prior to doing “Network,” among Chayefsky’s intended projects included “The Rabbi Mystery Show,” featuring a character described by the screenwriter as “a retired and revered old rabbi,” who solved crimes alongside his police officer son.
Chayefsky also struggled over a screenplay for a never-produced film based in Palestine at the time of Israel’s founding in which a young Jewish militant declares: “I’ll tell you about your civilized world. . . . For 2,000 years, Jews have been crucified, burnt at the stake, thrown to the lions, into the ovens, into the gas chambers, crushed into ghettos, forcibly converted, exiled, deported, slaughtered by Cossacks and peasants, Greeks, Romans, Spaniards, Frenchmen, Englishmen, anybody and everybody, popes and Protestants and every mad minister from Haman to Hitler—and I’m tired of it. . . .We’re an endangered species, sowe don’t trust the civilized world anymore. Chayefsky’s proposed film ended with a squad of British police officers being gunned down by the heroine of the story.
The film “Network” is really where Chayefsky made his mark putting Zionist propaganda before the world. In his preparatory notes for the screenplay, Chayefsky wrote, “The basic joke is that the networks are so powerful that they can make true what isn’t true and never even existed.” Clearly, Chayefsky understood the power of the media and that became evident when he rose to fame.
According to Chayefsky’s biographer, Itzkoff, “Network” incorporated “all the angst, anxiety and paranoia” that Chayefsky had ever felt. One of Chayefsky’s concerns was what Itzkoff described as “the creeping influence of foreign powers—Arab powers—in the American economy.” And Chayefsky felt this supposedly growing influence was being ignored.
If there is any doubt about Chayefsky’s political and religious orientation, Itzkoff notes that when “Network” director Sidney Lumet suggested actress Vanessa Redgrave for a starring role in the film, Chayefsky objected saying that Ms. Redgrave was a supporter of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
When Lumet responded “Paddy, that’s blacklisting,” Chayefsky replied, “Not when a Jew does it to a Gentile.”
So the inside story of “Network” and the propaganda value that it has had for the Zionist cause has clearly now been revealed in this new biography of Chayefsky.
Perhaps commentators might want to read the book before once again making the ridiculous claim that “Hollywood is owned by the Arabs.”
