Le prix Nobel de la paix Elie Wiesel a qualifié l'investisseur américain Bernard Madoff, accusé d'une gigantesque fraude, de "psychopathe" qui devrait être placé à l'isolement, selon des propos rapportés vendredi par le New York Post.

"Psychopathe est un mot trop gentil pour le qualifier", a déclaré M. Wiesel, dont la Fondation avait donné en gestion la quasi-totalité de ses avoirs à la société de Bernard Madoff, soit plus de 15 millions de dollars, selon le quotidien.

"Il devrait être placé à l'isolement pendant au moins cinq ans avec un écran sur lequel seraient diffusées des photos de ses victimes", a poursuivi le survivant de l'Holocauste, cité par le journal.

"Il faudrait inventer n'importe quoi pour le faire souffrir (...) Il devrait être présenté à des juges qui trouveraient un châtiment", a ajouté M. Wiesel, selon le New York Post.

Bernard Madoff, 70 ans, a été arrêté le 11 décembre dernier après avoir révélé à ses proches qu'il avait pendant des décennies monté un énorme fonds d'investissement frauduleux, où des rémunérations élevées fictives étaient offertes aux clients qui lui confiaient leur argent.

Seul accusé jusqu'à présent, et pas encore formellement inculpé, l'investisseur est assigné à résidence 24 heures sur 24 dans son luxueux appartement de Manhattan.

La Fondation Elie Wiesel, vouée à l'entretien de la mémoire de l'Holocauste, mène des programmes de sensibilisation à l'antisémitisme auprès des jeunes, en organisant concours et conférences internationales. Elle a été créée en 1986 par le prix Nobel de la Paix et sa femme Marion.

Né en 1928, rescapé des camps de la mort nazis, Elie Wiesel a consacré l'essentiel de sa vie à la mémoire de la Shoah.

C'est en ces termes que le (très) grand Elie Wiesel, victime pour l'éternité de la barbarie-nazie-qui-fait-peur-aux-petits-enfants-goyim-aussi, s'en est pris à son correligionnaire Madoff pour avoir ruiner nombre de membres de la communauté dont certaines entreprises spécialisées dans le souvenir du génocide dont la reconnaissance est obligatoire par la loi.

Naturellement ce cher Elie ne s'emporte pas de cette façon quand les victimes ne sont que de grossiers Goyim (Lire "La mafia juive" d'Hervé Ryssen). Non ce qui énerve singulièrement le (très) grand Elie Wiesel c'est bien qu'un congénère ait pu si complètement ruiner d'autres Juifs. Le langage outrancier de l'intéressé étant tout à fait symptomatique d'une "intolérance à la frustration" très présente chez les Juifs en raison de la névrose post-incestueuse.

Mais comme d'habitude, ce qu'il faut pour réellement saisir la dimension des propos de Wiesel c'est d'inverser les rôles pour comprendre sa véritable pensée projetée sur Madoff: c'est bel et bien de la communauté juive impliqué dans les diverses magouilles habituelles qu'Elie parle sans s'en rendre compte ! Le terme de "psychopathie", rarement employé pour une arnaque, étant tout simplement un aveu de la nature psychopathologique du Judaïsme lui-même et du lien entre cette pathologie et le comportement criminogène de nombreux Juifs.

Par ailleurs l'asociabilité, c'est à dire la haine d'autrui et le refus d'entretenir des contacts avec lui, est un élément central de l'univers mental Juif comme nous le disions il y a quelques mois et surtout un des symptômes principaux de psychopathie ! Un paradoxe apparaît dans le propos de l'auteur (le paradoxe est très courant dans le discours Juif, caractéristique du double jeu permanent qui trouble l'esprit Juif) puisque qualifié de psychopathe on propose comme traitement de choc l'isolement, qui est précisément un des piliers de cette maladie...

Il faut y voir bien sûr Wiesel avouer inconsciemment la nature pathologique du Judaïsme qui oscille entre transfert sur autrui de ses propres tares et aveu de culpabilité. Wiesel admet sans le dire la nature psychopathique des comportements criminels Juifs, mais propose comme réponse un remède typiquement Juif: l'isolement, la séparation d'avec les autres, le renfermement sur soi coupable. Et cette projection des "visages des victimes" est l'expression même du rapport névrotique aux autres, aux Goyim, qu'entretiennent les Juifs, partagés entre rejet (isolement) et remords (utilisation du terme "victimes").

Un aveu final qui confine aussi au masochisme ("n'importe quoi pour le faire souffrir"): Wiesel ne nous dit rien de moins que conscient des injustices commises, les auteurs espèrent les persécutions comme une punition qu'ils auraient recherché, ce qui expliquerait que le but des provocations de nombreux Juifs contre les autres peuples n'est autre qu'un châtiment. Une névrose sado-masochiste s'ajoutant à la psychopathie.

Comme on le voit, chez les Juifs, tout est très simple et très compliqué. Cependant lorsqu'un escroc Juif se fera prendre vous pourrez à bon droit dire:

Les vilains diraient que c'est toujours mieux qu'être médecin-chef du camp de Drancy comme le fut son coreligionnaire Abraham Drucker, physionomiste à la solde des Allemands pour les accompagner dans le choix de prépusectomisés à déporter ; mais ce n'est pas le sujet.

Dans une assez peu croyable intervention, le romancier américain s'est attaqué à son coreligionnaire escroc Bernard Madoff avec une violence et, il faut bien le dire, une haine toute talmudique qui en dit long sur le personnage. Qui en dit surtout très long sur les pratiques levantines et le martyre de l'Allemagne occupée depuis 1945.

Depuis plusieurs semaines, pour faire oublier les origines de Bernard Madoff et surtout le fait que ce dernier et sa femme était des bienfaiteurs d'organisations sionistes et de divers établissements israéliens (avec l'argent qu'ilz volaient), tentent de faire croire qu'ils sont les seuls réelles victimes de l'escroc.


Et pour ceux qui seraient surpris par la haine maladive dont est capable le "survivant" – l'un de ces millions de "survivants" – digne elle d'un psychopathe meurtrier, rappelons ces quelques mots issus de son livre "Rendez-vous avec la haine", Legends of Our Time, New York, Avon Books, 1968, p.1778.

THE CONTRAST BETWEEN JEWISH GREED and basic Christian generosity has never been more searingly exposed than by the ongoing Bernard Madoff scandal.

Madoff was arrested for criminal securities fraud on December 11, 2008. Because Bernie is a Jewish criminal, he has only had to endure house arrest with afternoon walks to date. The arrest was made shortly after Madoff told his two sons, employees at his firm, “Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities,” that he had been running a giant Ponzi scheme…resulting in robbing his clients of over $50 billion dollars.

In articles such as, “How I Got Screwed By Bernie Madoff,” it was brought to light that Madoff used client money for personal use…apparently a LOT of client money. Bernie has lived a lavish lifestyle and owns several homes, including a penthouse apartment in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, a luxurious home & private club in Florida, two private jets, and a yacht named “Bull.”

In the US Attorney's Access Document charging Madoff with securities fraud, it states

"BERNARD L MADOFF - the founder of Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities former chairman of the NASDAQ Stock Market - was arrested today for securities fraud.

“According to Madoff’s Website, ‘he has a personal interest in maintaining an unblemished record of fair-dealing and high ethical standards.’” View Arrest Document Here.

Madoff’s Website is now defunct and his claim to “high ethical standards” has been shown to be another classic Zionist con and lie. Running a Ponzi game is bad enough, but Bernie seems to have taken the game to a new level of criminality. On February 20, 2009, it was reported that there was no indication whatsoever that Madoff had EVER bought a single security for even one of his clients in the last 13 years even though he listed blue-chip stocks on their account statements.

Where did the $50 billion go? To date, the Feds have only found a little over $900 million. The leading scenario has it that Dirty Bernie laundered much of the loot through Israeli banks. Some suspect most of the stolen billions are still sitting safely in various Israeli banks right now and are being - and have been - used to fund a long list of intel schemes and black operations.

MANY ARE NOW ASKING the question: “Is Madoff a symbol of common Jewish greed?”

The Anti Defamation League defends Madoff by saying that his situation is an isolated incident. Other Jewish organizations claim that there are many Jewish charities who give generously, and thus, Madoff should not be used as an example of “Jewish greed.” Little is ever discussed as to how those benevolent Jewish charities actually MADE their money in the first place.

Having grown up in an upper middle class synagogue, my reply to Jewry’s defense of Madoff is two-fold.

First of all, how many “isolated incidents” regarding Wall Street shysters and financial crooks of all stripes does it take to establish the fact of Jewish greed? How many on the planet, even reputable Jews, have been defrauded and victimized by Jewish greed? How many could tell of their own experiences of being duped, lied to, conned and ripped-off by unscrupulous Jews? Tens of millions? More?

Secondly, Jewish charities are not concerned with helping all of humanity at large as is the practice of Christian charities. The vast majority of Jewish charities help THEIR OWN. Investigator Details Bernie Madoff’s Relationship
With Organized Crime

Ponzi scheme financier Bernard Madoff should feel fortunate that he got nabbed when he did. Now under house arrest in his $7 million Manhattan penthouse, he could be lying in a pine box, six feet under if some of the people he crossed got their hands on him.

Former funds manager Harry Markopolos told a House Financial Services subcommittee on Feb. 4 that Madoff had cheated some extremely dangerous figures out of millions of dollars.

“Mr. Madoff was running such a large scheme of unimaginable size and complexity, and he had a lot of dirty money,” Markopolos testified. “Let me describe dirty money to you. When you’re that big and you’re that secretive, you’re going to attract a lot of organized crime money, which we now know came from the Russian mob and the Latin American drug cartel. When you’re zeroing out mobsters, you have a lot of fear. He could not afford to get caught, because once he got caught. . . .”

Markopolos switched course to address his own fears of being murdered ifMadoff learned of his investigation:

“If he would’ve known my name and knew he had a team tracking him, I didn’t think I was long for this world. Mr. Madoff was one of the most powerful men on Wall Street, and he was in a position to end our careers, or worse.” He continued, “Mr. Madoff was already facing life in prison if he were caught, so he’d face little to no downside to removing whatever threats he felt we posed. My team and I surmised that if Mr. Madoff gained knowledge of our activities, he might feel threatened enough to seek to stifle us.”

As his research continued over a 10-year period, Markopolos found that Madoff’s operation rivaled the infamous BCCI scandal of the 1980s and 1990s. In addition to his association with Russian oligarchs and Colombian drug lords, Madoff was also linked to high-society stockbroker Robert M. Jaffe (now under investigation by Massachusetts security regulators and linked to New England mobster Gennaro Angiulo),
Cayman Island money launderers, and corrupt pro-Israel financiers Sy Syms and Jacob Merkin.

Syms ran billions of dirty money through the Israeli Discount Bank of New York, while researcher Wayne Madsen wrote on January 14:

“Madoff is suspected of transferring much of his ill-gotten gain to Israeli banks, including one, Bank Leumi, that Madoff associate J. Ezra Merkin bought from the Israeli government when Ariel Sharon was prime minister and current PM Ehud Olmert was finance minister.”

Madoff was a past treasurer of the American Jewish Congress. Could these be the men Markopolos referred to when saying that Madoff “had been aided by an army of colleagues within his investment business in Manhattan”?

Government regulators still refused to act. “The SEC had enough to get Madoff,” Markopolos said. “I drew them pictures. I gave them a road map. I told them what questions to ask and who to phone.”

While hundreds of people lost their life savings, Wall Street continued its “code of silence.” In turn, the banking cartel’s elite pressured their subordinates to turn a blind eye. Former SEC Commissioner Paul Atkins confessed, “We were actively discouraged from going after Ponzi schemes, pump-and-dump schemes, and things that were considered small cases. Actively discouraged by our superiors.”

Markopolos said the SEC didn’t listen to his warnings because, “they’re too in-bed with the large derivative traders and investment banks. People lost money because they had faith in government.” The syndicate is flourishing between Washington and Wall Street.

I’ve just finished listening to an enlightening 2-hour radio interview with hosts Mark Glenn and James Morris and guest Kevin MacDonald, and including an interesting call-in appearance from Stephen Sniegoski. The general topic was Jewish power, but one point in particular stood out: Recently, a premier architect and promoter of the neocon war against Iraq, “Prince of Darkness” Richard Perle, has been escalating his campaign to deny the neocon role in American politics. Let me explain.

Back in 1996, a group of Americans writing for an Israeli think tank published a paper for Israeli Likud Party leader Benjamin Netanyahu called “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm.” In addition to calling for Saddam Hussein’s replacement, it also advised an overthrow or destabilization of the governments of Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Iran, thus leading to something akin to a “Greater US-Israel Co-Prosperity Sphere.”

One year later came the formation of The Project for the New American Century (PNAC), a neocon think tank based in Washington. William Kristol and Robert Kagan co-founded it as a non-profit educational organization, but many have accused it of playing a primary role in the Bush Administration’s decision to go to war with Iraq in 2003. Later, the Pentagon hosted a unit called the Office of Special Plans (OSP), where Paul Wolfowitz joined Douglas Feith in propagating what many have claimed were false allegations about Hussein’s possession of weapons of mass destruction.

In the American media there were legions of neocon writers who repeated the party line about the need for a preemptive war against Hussein. Anyone following the efforts and words of the neocons likely recognized a sense of schizophrenia about describing who, exactly, these neocons were. Last year I wrote about this phenomenon of naming neocons (see also here), noting how such comfortable homes to neoconservatism as The Public Interest, The National Interest, and Commentary (published by The American Jewish Committee) began to ignore any connection between Jews and neoconservatism. For example, the Winter 2004 issue of The Public Interest had an essay titled "Conservatives and Neoconservatives." Yet author Adam Wolfson offered not even an oblique reference to Jews. Never mind that journal co-founder Irving Kristol is considered by many to be the father of neoconservatism, or that the other three editors over the forty-year life of the magazine have also been Jews.

Over at its more foreign-policy oriented sister publication, The National Interest, Francis Fukuyama, in "The Neoconservative Moment" (Summer 2004) also failed to mention this connection. And in the October 2005 issue of Commentary, Joshua Muravchik did likewise in his article "Iraq and the Conservatives." (Notice that Muravchik doesn't even call them neoconservatives.)

The schizophrenic aspect of naming or not naming neocons as Jews was obvious at the New York Times beginning at the end of 2008. In mid-December, America’s “paper of record” featured a review of a book about neocon hawk Richard Perle written by Alan Weisman, “a world-traveled journalist and the son of Ukrainian Jews.” In the review were found familiar neocon names such as Elliott Abrams, Douglas Feith, Michael Ledeen, and David Frum. The reader, however, heard not a word about their Jewish identity.

One month later, however, the very same Times Book Review addressed Jacob Heilbrunn’s They Knew They Were Right: The Rise of the Neocons—yet another book on neocons written by a Jewish author. But this time the reviewer, Timothy Noah, could not have been more blunt about the Jewish nature of the movement: “There’s no point denying it: neocons tend to be Jewish.” Heilbrunn confirmed this in an interview, when he bequeathed to us this verbal gift: "It is anything but an anti-Semitic canard to label neoconservatism a largely Jewish phenomenon.” In an article in The American Conservative, Philip Weiss delivered the same verdict: “Heilbrunn achieves one important chore: a forthright social narrative of the neocons as a Jewish movement.”

All of this brings us full circle back to 2004, when Kevin MacDonald wrote that "neoconservatism is indeed a Jewish intellectual and political movement." "The current situation in the United States is really an awesome display of Jewish power and influence.” MacDonald goes over the entire history of the movement back to the 1960s and shows that the principal players were Jews with a strong Jewish identity and a strong sense of pursuing Jewish interests — first and foremost the interests of Israel, but also advocating the use of US foreign policy to combat anti-Semitism in the Soviet Union. He shows that neocons hold traditional Jewish liberal attitudes on every other issue, including immigration policy, but that they managed to elbow out traditional conservatives in the Republican Party to the point that paleocons like Pat Buchanan have been relegated to the sidelines.

Of course anyone following the antics of the neocons always knew about a certain Jewish character to the movement. After all, didn’t Pat Buchanan famously write in his seminal cover story in The American Conservative in early 2003 that a “neoconservative clique” was responsible for a pre-planned attack on Iraq following 9/11? Continuing, he thundered, “We charge that a cabal of polemicists and public officials seek to ensnare our country in a series of wars that are not in America’s interests. We charge them with colluding with Israel to ignite those wars.”

And who might benefit from the Iraq War? Buchanan spelled it out:

Cui Bono? For whose benefit these endless wars in a region that holds nothing vital to America save oil, which the Arabs must sell us to survive? Who would benefit from a war of civilizations between the West and Islam? Answer: one nation, one leader, one party. Israel, Sharon, Likud.

One might argue that the Jewish nature of the neocon movement and its efforts on behalf of the State of Israel are two of the most heavily documented and discussed topics of the last decade. Here is just a short list of the most well-known considerations of Jewish power in this respect:

Perhaps the crowning achievement in this category is Stephen Sniegoski’s The Transparent Cabal, a comprehensive solo effort that definitively documents the neocon-Zionist hand in America’s disastrous decision to invade and occupy Iraq, as well as in American Middle East policy more generally. His lucid comments on the radio show mentioned above make this topic even easier to understand.

Finally, I arrive at the point of this column: Despite the massive proof of neocon involvement in America’s decision to go to war with Iraq and despite the overwhelming evidence that neoconservatism qualifies as a Jewish movement, central neocon figure Richard Perle has, with a straight face, stated that neocons do not exist. And it follows that if they don't exist, they certainly are not a Jewish cabal.

In a story last week in the Washington Post, journalist Dana Milbank expressed skepticism about Perle’s odd claims. “Listening to neoconservative mastermind Richard Perle at the Nixon Center yesterday,” he wrote, “there was a sense of falling down the rabbit hole. In real life, Perle was the ideological architect of the Iraq war and of the Bush doctrine of preemptive attack. But at yesterday's forum of foreign policy intellectuals, he created a fantastic world in which:

1. Perle is not a neoconservative.

2. Neoconservatives do not exist.

3. Even if neoconservatives did exist, they certainly couldn't be blamed for the disasters of the past eight years.”

Against any form of reality that most of us would recognize, Perle averred that "There is no such thing as a neoconservative foreign policy." This nonsense was spoken at a gathering hosted by The National Interest.

As evidence of the coordinated nature of this disinformation campaign, one can point to the essay Perle recently penned for The National Interest. Titled Ambushed on the Potomac, the essay has Perle spouting such howlers as, “I know of no statement, public or private, by any neoconservative in or near government, advocating the invasion of Iraq primarily for the purpose of promoting democracy or advancing some grand neoconservative vision.” And this: “And as for Israeli interests, well, the Israelis, who believed that Iran posed the greater threat, were strongly and often vociferously against the United States going into Iraq.”

He also alleges that his fellow Jew Jacob Heilbrunn’s They Knew They Were Right exhibits “an obsession with neoconservative influence” but fails “utterly to describe or document that influence.” Further, he adds, “This neoconservative conspiracy is nonsense, of course, and no serious observer of the Bush administration would argue such a thing, not least because there is not, and cannot be, any evidence to substantiate it.”

The National Interest is entirely complicit in this campaign. Witness, for example, the six large pictures interspersed throughout the article: Bush, Cheney, Powell, Tenet, Rice, Rumsfeld — none of them a Jew. Perle (with the help of The National Interest) wants to frame them for “the hijacking of foreign policy.” And he concludes that “what is unusual is the extent to which President Bush was undermined by his own administration.”

What might be missed here is a two-year-old piece in Vanity Fair which reveals even more chutzpah on who is to blame for Iraq. In conversations just prior to the 2006 elections, a host of neocon operatives were interviewed and sought to distance themselves from the Iraq fiasco by blaming others—but only non-Jews.

Kenneth Adelman, for instance, though professing deep respect for personal friend Donald Rumsfeld, still blamed him for many of the problems in carrying out the plans of the neocons. “I’m crushed by his performance.” Adelman also blamed three other top non-Jews: Paul Bremer, George Tenet and General Tommy Franks. “Those three are each directly responsible for the disaster of Iraq.”

Michael Ledeen, top scholar from the American Enterprise Institute, a leading neocon think tank, felt that Condoleezza Rice, in her capacity as national-security adviser, had sought compromise rather than correct decisions. Eliot Cohen saw “a very different quality of leadership” as responsible for missed chances in 2003 and 2004. Michael Rubin, also from the A.E.I., faulted the Commander-in-Chief this way: “Where I most blame George Bush is that, through his rhetoric, people trusted him, people believed him. Reformists came out of the woodwork and exposed themselves."

Perle offered that “this unfolding catastrophe has a central cause: devastating dysfunction within the Bush administration. . . . At the end of the day, you have to hold the president responsible.” Incredibly, Perle claimed, “Huge mistakes were made, and I want to be very clear on this: they were not made by neoconservatives, who had almost no voice in what happened . . .”

The most outlandish opinion, however, came from Ledeen, who argued that the best way to understand the dysfunction of the Bush administration was to ask, “Who are the most powerful people in the White House?” His answer: "They are women who are in love with the president: Laura [Bush], Condi, Harriet Miers, and Karen Hughes." Quite frankly, I'm speechless.

James Petras, who has penned three recent books on the “Zionist Power Configuration (ZPC),” also noted the blame-the-goyim approach. "Whatever inside dope [journalist Seymour] Hersh cited that had not been public was based on anonymous sources which could never be double checked or verified, whose analysis incidentally coincided with Hersh's peculiar penchant for blaming the Gentiles (WASPs) and exonerating the brethren."

Petras is a man worth reading. In two previous books, The Power of Israel in the United States (2006) and Rulers and Ruled in the US Empire: Bankers, Zionists and Militants (2007), he lucidly outlined the power structure that controls Washington. (See my review of both books for The Occidental Quarterly here). Last year he come out with a new book, Zionism, Militarism, and the Decline of U.S. Power that continued his exposition. Petras minces no words in this new book:

The lesson is clear: the rise of Judeo-fascism represents a clear and present danger to our democratic freedoms in the United States. They do not come with black shirts and stiff-arm salutes. The public face is a clean-shaven, neck-tied attorney, real estate philanthropist or Ivy League professor. But there is rising anger and hostility in American against the ZPC, against its arrogant authoritarian communal attacks on our democratic values, to say nothing of our national interests. Sooner or later there will be a major backlash—and it will reflect badly on those who, through vocation or conviction, engage in the firings, censoring and intimidation campaigns against the American majority. The American people will not remember their cries of ‘anti-Semitism’; they will recall their role in sending thousands of American soldiers to their death in the Middle East in the interests of Israel, and how that war has diminished the United States’ image in the world, to say nothing of its economic well-being and democratic freedoms at home.

Time will tell whether the American people will react as Petras suggests. But more to the point, will the American people swallow the current lies of Perle and his fellow neocons? There are two reasons they might. First, Jews have a long history of deception of non-Jews. MacDonald was being polite when he titled a chapter on the history of Jewish deception “Rationalization and Apologia.” Less charitable people might call it something else. In any case, we might suspect that Perle is simply engaging in a tried and true tactic of his tribe.

The second reason Perle et al. might succeed in deceiving the masses is that the bulk of American media is in the hands of Jews, most of whom, as Petras and others have shown, are highly sympathetic to the Zionist cause. Israel Shamir provides a reason why the transgressions of Perle and his fellow neocons may well go unpunished: “The rich Jews buy media so it will cover up their (and their brethren's) misdeeds.”

And for people who are not deceived by all this, there is little doubt that organizations like the ADL will step in to label as anti-Semites anyone who publicly states that neoconservatism is a Jewish cabal. Indeed, the ADL has already done so. As usual, such charges will keep public discussion of these issues to a minimum, and respectable politicians will be loathe to discuss the topic.

How the American people react to these brazen attempts by the Jewish neocons to whitewash their role in steering America on such a disastrous course will show their maturity and determination to get to the truth of the matter, or it will show their lack thereof. The proper response, of course, is to forcefully reject these outrageous lies.

Ce livre a défendu la thèse que les origines de la guerre américaine contre l’Irak tournent autour de l’agenda de guerre américaine, dont les bases furent esquissées en Israël pour favoriser les intérêts israéliens, et que des néoconservateurs américains, amis d’Israël à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur du gouvernement Bush, firent avancer avec passion. Pour documenter cette affirmation, des preuves étendues furent produites dont beaucoup d’entre elles proviennent d’un document néoconservateur détaillé et compromettant. (p. 351)

L’influence des néoconservateurs fut avant tout démontrée par le fait que leur agenda de guerre se différencia radicalement de la politique traditionnelle américaine au Moyen-Orient, qui se concentrait sur le maintien de la stabilité régionale. La politique des neocons a par conséquent provoqué l’opposition de membres de l’élite traditionnelle dans le domaine de la politique étrangère/sécurité nationale. (p. 352)

Une partie fondamentale et plutôt tabouisée du sujet de ce travail est la combinaison intégrale d’Israël avec l’agenda de guerre néoconservateur. Les contours essentiels de cet agenda de guerre pour le Proche-Orient – à l’aide duquel la sécurité d’Israël devait être renforcée par la déstabilisation des voisins d’Israël – se profilèrent en grande partie dans la pensée du Likoud des années 1980. Des leaders neocons – Richard Perle, David Wurmser, Douglas Feith ‑ soumirent en 1996 au Premier ministre israélien Netanyahou un plan comparable, selon lequel les Etats-Unis auraient remplacé Israël dans son rôle de parti agresseur. Cependant, il y avait également une liaison israélienne lorsque l’Amérique s’achemina vers une guerre avec l’Irak, lorsque le gouvernement Sharon insista pour une attaque et favorisa l’idée d’une menace immédiate par les armes de destruction massives de Saddam. Plus tard, Israël aurait joué un rôle semblable en appuyant une ligne dure contre l’Iran.

Comme révélé dans cette étude, les néoconservateurs entretenaient d’étroits liens avec Israël et avaient indiqué, à l’occasion d’une série de manifestations, la sécurité d’Israël comme but de leur agenda de guerre pour le Proche-Orient. Mais ils insistaient sur le fait que les intérêts américains et israéliens concordaient et que le but fondamental de leurs recettes politiques consistait en un renforcement de la sécurité américaine. Afin de tirer au clair la justesse de cette affirmation des neocons, il est instructif d’évaluer les fruits de leur politique.

Principalement: dans quelle mesure un renforcement de la sécurité américaine a-t-il effectivement résulté de leur politique de guerre? Pour l’Amérique, les conséquences négatives de la guerre en Irak sont assez évidentes. Jusqu’à fin mars 2008, plus de 4000 Américains ont perdu la vie, le nombre de blessés dépassa 29 000, et on avait dépensé près de 490 milliards de dollars pour cette guerre.

Le total des coûts économiques de la guerre, auxquels n’appartiennent pas que les dépenses de guerre directes, mais aussi les effets de la guerre sur l’économie en général, était de loin plus élevé. Joseph Stiglitz, l’ancien président du conseil national des experts économiques, prix Nobel et professeur d’économie à la Columbia University, et Linda Bilmes, experte financière de l’Université de Harvard calculèrent dans leur livre intitulé «The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict» [La guerre à trois billions de dollars: les coûts effectifs de la guerre], paru au début 2008, que le coût global de la guerre d’Irak se monterait à 3 mille milliards de dollars. (Cette estimation repose sur l’hypothèse que les Etats-Unis retireraient toutes leurs troupes d’ici 2012). Les coûts de la guerre ont déjà dépassé ceux de la guerre du Vietnam qui dura douze ans. Les auteurs font remarquer que la seule guerre des Etats-Unis qui coûta plus fut la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Ces coûts qui donnent le tournis ont déjà constitué un facteur important de la récession de l’économie américaine. (p. 352)

La guerre d’Irak n’a pas seulement aggravé le terrorisme, mais elle a aussi affaibli la puissance de l’Amérique dans le monde. Avant tout, cela a gravement nui à la position américaine au Proche-Orient. Richard Haass, le président du Conseil des relations étran gères, prétendit dans son essai «La fin d’une ère», paru fin 2006 dans Foreign Policy, que la guerre américaine contre l’Irak avait conduit à la fin du «primat américain» au Proche-Orient. (p. 354)

Les néoconservateurs voyaient la politique extérieure américaine à travers les lunettes des intérêts d’Israël, comme les Likoudniks ont défendu les intérêts d’Israël. Ils voyaient très probablement les intérêts d’Israël vraiment comme étant ceux de l’Amérique et ne se considéraient pas comme des gens qui sacrifiaient les intérêts des Etats-Unis en faveur d’Israël. Chez des individus orientés par une idéologie, l’automystification n’a rien d’extraordinaire.

Dire que les néoconservateurs tentaient de promouvoir les intérêts israéliens n’est cependant pas la même chose que de pré tendre que les néoconservateurs exécutaient les ordres du gouvernement d’Israël. Il n’y a pas d’indication qu’ils auraient reçu des instructions dans ce sens. Les positions des neocons et du gouvernement israélien se recoupaient dans bien des questions déci sives: concernant la guerre d’Irak; concernant la nécessité de liquider le pouvoir iranien; concernant la défense de l’Etat juif contre les Palestiniens. Dans les faits, la position des néoconservateurs concernant l’Iran – dans les années 1980 de façon bienveillante, ces dernières années de façon hostile – était totalement calquée sur celle d’Israël. Il semble cependant que quelques éléments importants en Israël affirmaient des opinions modérées et ne s’identifiaient pas à l’entier de l’agenda de guerre néoconservateur. C’est facile à comprendre. Avant 2001 déjà, il était patent que les neocons faisaient partie de l’aile dure des opinions israéli ennes, comme ils l’ont clairement affirmé dans leur papier «A Clean Break» publié en 1990, qui avait appelé le gouvernement likoud de Netanyahou de rompre avec le «processus de paix» du parti travailliste et d’adopter une attitude beaucoup plus agressive. Même le dur Netanyahou se distança de la mise en œuvre de leur ligne belliciste sans compromis. De même, le gouvernement Olmert s’abstint de suivre l’agenda néoconservateur lors de l’invasion du Liban en 2006. Apparemment la scène politique conflictuelle israélienne impose des limites à la marge de manœuvre d’un leader poli tique, de sorte que la mise en œuvre d’un programme politique devient très difficile. Malgré cela, il y a eu une relation évidente entre les neocons et des politiciens israéliens qui dépassait le simple échange d’idées. Des neocons n’étaient pas seulement proches de Netanyahou, mais encore de Sharansky, Dore Gold et dans une moindre mesure de Sharon. Ce qui est le plus significatif, et ça a été souligné dans tout le livre, c’est que l’agenda de guerre pour le Proche-Orient ne provenait pas du cerveau des neocons, mais qu’il reflétait la pensée des purs et durs du Likoud. Leurs idées fondamentales sur le nouvel ordre du Proche-Orient avaient été pensées pour l’essentiel en Israël pour faire avancer les intérêts israéliens. (p. 365 ss.)

Les preuves de la relation entre les néoconservateurs et les Israéliens avec la guerre des Etats-Unis au Proche-Orient sont renversantes et d’accès public. Il n’y eut pas de «conspiration» obscure et secrète, une expression moqueuse qui est souvent utilisée par des gens qui veulent railler la représentation d’une relation des neocons avec la guerre. Mais dans le domaine de la politique, comme le faisait remarquer George Orwell, « il faut un effort constant pour voir ce qui vous pend au nez ». On serait en droit d’espérer que les Américains, dans leur autoproclamé «pays des hommes libres», ne devraient pas craindre de discuter honnêtement des dessous et des motivations pour la guerre d’Irak et de la politique des Etats-Unis au Proche-Orient en général. Ce n’est qu’en comprenant la vérité que les Etats-Unis pourront peut-être prendre les mesures correctrices adéquates au Proche-Orient; à défaut d’une pareille compréhension, la catastrophe se rapproche de façon inquiétante.

Pour créer une politique moyen-orientale dans l’intérêt des Etats-Unis et de leur population, il est apparemment essentiel d’avoir une vue claire de la situation. Des individus qui dans leurs analyses se trompaient complètement, comme c’était le cas pour les néoconservateurs dans leurs prises de position publiques, ne devraient pas participer à l’élaboration de la politique dans ce domaine. Par ailleurs, l’axe principal de la détermination d’une pareille politique devrait être mis sur les intérêts des Etats-Unis, sans interférence des intérêts d’autres pays. Des individus, ayant des relations étroites avec des Etats étrangers, ne devraient pas participer à l’élaboration de la politique américaine dans des domaines qui concernent les intérêts de ces Etats. C’est un conflit d’intérêts évident. Aucune de ces affirmations ne signifie que les Etats-Unis ne doivent pas réfléchir à la moralité internationale – étant entendu que tous les pays doivent être mesurés à la même aulne – mais on ne peut pas attendre des Etats-Unis qu’ils poursuivent une politique qui renforcerait la sécurité de certains pays étrangers au détriment de leurs propres intérêts. Un pareil principe de base devrait être valable pour Israël comme pour tous les autres pays. Lorsqu’il devient évident que les intérêts des Etats-Unis sont sacrifiés au profit d’un autre pays, des Américains ne devraient pas se laisser dissuader de démontrer cela. La survie à proprement parler des Etats-Unis et de leur population pourrait en dépendre. (p. 372 ss.)

Rien ne garantit l’application d’une guerre contre l’Iran ni les aspects complémen­taires de l’agenda de guerre des néoconservateurs. Cependant, au vu de la rhétorique qui s’exprima au printemps 2008, une pareille guerre parut être une possibilité indubi table du gouvernement Bush à son déclin. Vu la position de dur de McCain et de sa proximité des neocons, il apparaît que la probabilité d’une guerre contre l’Iran serait encore plus grande s’il était élu. Et un pareil engagement ne pourrait pas non plus être exclu sous Obama ou Clinton malgré leur critique de la guerre de l’Irak. On peut dire avec certitude que – bien que la politique moyen-orientale des neocons a une longue histoire – cette poli tique, et les neocons eux-mêmes, sont loin de devenir de l’histoire. (p. 382)

While some had predicted Barack Obama would be "tested" early in his administration by America's enemy Osama, Obama's first major foreign policy "test" has instead come from America's ally, Israel.

Israel's war in Gaza has been calculated and deliberately planned to occur at this time. The Israeli government has taken advantage of a world in which many are distracted by the global economic crisis and the celebration of Christmas and the New Year.

Equally important the bombing of Gaza has been executed on George Bush's "watch" so that Israel can count on a Bush administration whose failure to act as an honest broker was seen most starkly in the U.S. silence and support during the Israeli war in Lebanon.

The Israelis struck during the U.S. presidential transition and before Barack Obama, who could prove less sympathetic, takes office.

The pretense for the bombings and threat to invade Gaza with ground troops is Hamas breaking the ceasefire by shelling Israel. However, Hamas started shelling after the talks to renew it failed.

Israel ignores the fact that during the ceasefire, Israel put up blockades to stop essential goods from getting in. The siege created a humanitarian catastrophe for Gaza's 1.5 million Palestinian residents by restricting the provision of food, fuel, medicine, electricity, and other necessities of life.

The U.S. and Europe were complicit in the blockade of a democratically elected Hamas government, a siege whose primary victims have been Gaza civilians. Hamas fighters vented their anger by firing rockets.

Reports have been circulating for sometime in the Israeli press that the Israeli military was planning for and looking for a pretext or provocation to strike. Despite the fact that the fighters shelling did not kill a single Israeli, Israel acts as if it has been driven to a "fight to the bitter end."

Following a past pattern, most recently in its humiliating defeat in the Israeli-Hezbollah war, the Israeli military engages in an all-out war that ignores moral and international standards of warfare: the bombings and massacre of more than 375 people and injuring of some 700 lacks any sense of proportionality.

Mosques and the Islamic University have been targeted and destroyed as have homes and hospitals. The Bush administration lamely and falsely blames Hamas, holding it alone responsible for the deaths. If Palestinians had slaughtered and injured a similar number of Israelis, the administration would denounce such actions as war crimes and rightly seek to mobilize the international community.

The international community must move swiftly not only to demand an immediate ceasefire as has the UN and EU but also put pressure on the Bush administration, which has in recent years claimed that it wishes to act multi-laterally and not unilaterally as it had in the decision to invade Iraq.

While the shelling by Hamas' fighters cannot be condoned, Israel's unbridled military response must also be condemned. Until the Israeli government gets a message that the international community will hold Israel to the same standards as it does other nations and the Palestinians, there can be no hope for peace negotiations to work.

President-elect Barack Obama cannot remain silent. While he is right to acknowledge that until January 20th George Bush is in charge of American foreign policy, for him to remain silent now will be seen as simply condoning Israel's devastation of Gaza and undermine his promise of a new international vision and a new approach to the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. He will be brush-stroked by the failed policies of the Bush administration in the Middle East and lose his credibility before he even comes to office with an Arab and Muslim world that sees his election as one of hope and promise.

Depuis l’arrêt de l’offensive sur la bande de Gaza, la guerre médiatique se poursuit. Les autorités israéliennes ont mis sur pied une armée de blogueurs chargée de défendre les points de vue de l’Etat hébreu.

Le ministère a recruté de nouveaux immigrants et des Juifs vivant à l’étranger ayant accès à un ordinateur, et qui parlent une deuxième langue, afin d’améliorer l’image d’Israël sur Internet. Cette campagne a été lancée dans la semaine qui a suivi le cessez-le-feu, proclamé le 17 janvier. Leurs principaux objectifs sont les blogs, les commentaires, les réseaux de sociabilité, les sondages en ligne ou encore les vidéos sur YouTube.

Si le ministère de l’Intégration est chargé du recrutement, c’est celui des Affaires étrangères qui doit guider les bénévoles en ligne. Chaque fois que le ministère repère une tendance anti-israélienne sur un blog en langue étrangère, un site d’information ou tout autre site Internet, il envoie immédiatement un message aux volontaires pour organiser la riposte en inondant le site d’opinions pro-israéliennes.
