L'homme considéré comme le mentor politique de Stephen Harper, Tom Flanagan, ne s'émeut pas des allégations de torture des détenus transférés aux autorités afghanes par les soldats canadiens. Il croit que la torture est commune dans ce pays. «En Afghanistan, les maris torturent leurs femmes. C'est commun. On ne peut pas contrôler (la torture)», a dit Tom Flanagan en entrevue à La Presse.

Nouvelles révélations sur les crimes canadiens en Afghanistan

La Commission parlementaire canadienne sur la mission en Afghanistan a auditionné le Canadien Malgarai Ahmadshah, dit Pasha, le 14 avril 2010.

M. Ahmadshah, fut traducteur des forces armées canadienne à Kandahar de juin 2007 à juin 2008. Il a témoigné de ce que les militaires canadiens avaient maquillé, arrêtaient n’importe qui, et transféraient leurs prisonniers au NDS afghan pour qu’il les torture.

Malgarai Ahmadshah a admis ne pas avoir été témoin oculaire de ce qu’il rapportait, mais se fonder sur les séances d’interrogatoire au cours des quelles il officiait. Il a déclarer avoir dénoncer plusieurs fois cette situation à ses supérieurs et avoir été sanctionné en retour (sa véritable identité aurait été révélée aux insurgés de sorte qu’ils se vengent sur sa famille).

Selon M. Ahmadshah, le ministre canadien de la Défense ne pouvait ignorer ce qui se passait sur le terrain, tant ces tortures étaient systématiques et connues de tous. Le Canada ne transférait pas ces prisonniers à des tortionnaires sans savoir ce qui adviendrait, mais précisément pour que cela advienne.

Le transfert de prisonniers à des tiers en sachant qu’ils peuvent être torturés constitue un crime de guerre en vertu de la Convention de Genève.

La Commission canadienne d’examen des plaintes contre la police militaire (CEPPM) a en définitive auditionné Richard Colvin, six heures durant, le 13 avril 2010. Le Parti conservateur a vainement multiplié les embuches pour empêcher le diplomate de sortir de la réserve exigée par son statut.

M. Colvin, qui fut 18 mois en poste à Kandahar en 2006-07, a confirmé le témoignage qu’il avait livré à la Commission parlementaire sur la mission en Afghanistan, le 5 octobre 2009. Selon lui, tous les prisonniers remis par les forces canadiennes aux autorités afghanes ont été torturées par ces dernières. Le transfert de prisonniers à des tiers en sachant qu’ils peuvent être torturés constitue un crime de guerre en vertu de la Convention de Genève.

Durant son service en Afghanistan, Richard Colvin avait adressé 17 rapports circonstanciés à sa hiérarchie à Ottawa, n’hésitant pas à distribuer jusqu’à 75 copies à des responsables divers aussi bien au ministère des Affaires étrangères qu’à celui de la Défense.

M. Colvin s’était précédemment illustré lors de sa mission à Ramallah après la mort du président Yasser Arafat en alertant sa hiérarchie sur les circonstances de l’empoisonnement et l’évolution interne du Fatah. Il est aujourd’hui Premier secrétaire de l’ambassade du Canada à Washington et officier de liaison pour le Renseignement.

La Commission a également eu connaissance des rapports d’un autre diplomate canadien Chris Alexander, quant à lui détaché auprès de l’ONU. Selon ce haut responsable, l’ancien gouverneur de Kandahar, Asadullah Khalil, aurait commandité l’assassinat de cinq employés des Nations Unies et disposerait d’une prison cachée sous sa résidence privée. Toujours selon M. Alexander, la plupart des attentats commis contre des étrangers ne seraient pas le fait des insurgés, mais des narco-trafiquants liés au gouvernement afghan, qui ont intérêt à prolonger l’insécurité.

NETANYAHU WARNS BIDEN WITH ‘BROKEN GLASS’

“I HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER YOU BUT BROKEN GLASS,” Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed US Vice President Biden during an after-dinner ceremony in Jerusalem on March 9, 2010. Netanyahu had prepared a symbolic gift for visiting Vice President Joe Biden: a framed document announcing that several trees were planted in Jerusalem in memory of Biden’s mother, a loyal supporter of Israel. But with Biden’s mission to persuade the Israeli government to begin shrinking Greater Israel back to its pre-1967 borders, Netanyahu leaned on the present (NOT “accidentally” as reported by the Jew-owned press) and shattered the glass frame. Then came Netanyahu’s cyptic warning and by way of indirection, a threat to Obama: “I have one thing to offer you right now, and it’s broken glass.” View Full Photo Here. It got worse. At a later tour of Israel’s Holocaust memorial museum, Yad Vashem, the lights in the Hall of Remembrance “unexpectedly” went out as a prayer for the dead was chanted. Catching Biden’s security detail by surprise as they anxiously stood for over 60 seconds in utter darkness, only the “eternal fire” that honored the Jewish dead spread its ominous light upon the Biden contingent. By the time the lights flickered back on, Biden’s Middle East fortunes were sealed with an Israeli announcement that it would build 1,600 new homes for Jewish settlers, ignoring US and Palestinian objections. On Biden’s departure for Jordan, Ha’aretz reported that Israel plans to build 50,000 new homes in East Jerusalem over the next three years. The “broken glass” and the “moments of darkness” that Biden experienced were not chance events. Nothing happens at official Israeli gatherings that is not carefully planned and orchestrated in advance. And in spite of Biden’s groveling before Netanyahu and Peres, with vows of Israel being the “centerpiece of US policy,” the Vice President’s cowering was met with glassy eyes by the leaders of the “master race.” Symbolic acts, such as the breaking of a glass by a Jewish groom before making vows of faithfulness to his bride at every Jewish wedding, are part of Jewish tradition. When the Jewish groom crushes the glass beneath his right foot, he silently pledges to avenge the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and wage war on all those who would perpetuate that destruction. David Wilder, spokesman for Jewish settlers in the West Bank city of Hebron, said he did not necessarily believe “all of this happened during Biden’s visit to Israel because of divine intervention” but he saw the mishaps as “very symbolic.” “When the United States doesn’t play its cards right, Wilder said, “it gets a gift of broken glass,” noting also that “one of the plagues in Egypt was darkness.” Surely none of this was lost on Biden who is well aware of the Mossad’s assassination teams who rove throughout the world targeting for the dung heap those it deems to be Israel’s enemies. Netanyahu has made it known through Jewish-styled symbolism that both Biden and Obama could be next on the Mossad’s hit list. Shards of glass that cut and bleed, and a darkness shrouding the memory of the dead are ominous signs of what awaits those who oppose the masters of the goyim. Surely, the look of the “master race” was written all over Netanyahu’s face as he handed Biden the document with sharp pieces of the glass frame scattered upon it. Netanyahu and his Jewish agents in America were deeply aggrieved when Obama went to Cairo on June 4, 2009, for an address to the Muslim world without stopping in Israel. That such a visit would sabotage Netanyahu’s quest for a Greater Israel through continual expansion and elimination of competitive states in the region was carefully filed in the annals of Israel’s foreign policy posture towards America. Symbolic messages portending revenge were not long in coming…

AN odd series of money transfers ordered by the leader of the World Jewish Congress, the tiny nonprofit that has wrested billions in Holocaust restitution from banks, companies and governments in Europe, has provoked an informal inquiry by Attorney General Eliot Spitzer of New York, people contacted by Mr. Spitzer's office said.
Officials from Mr. Spitzer's office have been contacting organization insiders and others in the United States and abroad, and the organization appears to be working to head off a full-blown investigation.
Toward that end, Stephen E. Herbits, who has been hired by Edgar Bronfman Sr., left, the organization's chief patron, to overhaul governance and financial management, has traveled to Israel and Europe courting support for plans for better internal oversight of the organization.
The congress has formidable legal representation in the form of Robert Abrams, a former New York attorney general, and the Jewish Week reported yesterday that Mr. Herbits had been negotiating with Isi Leibler, right, the organization's senior vice president and most vigorous internal critic.
Mr. Leibler, who declined to comment, has demanded an independent audit of the organization and extensive reforms in governance and financial management.
Among the actions he has questioned are the transfers by the group's leader, Rabbi Israel Singer, below, which totaled $1.2 million.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Herbits declined to say whether he had met with Mr. Leibler in Israel, but said the overhaul he was hired to produce was going forward. Several changes, like the creation of a finance committee and a nominating committee, will be presented for approval by the organization's general assembly at a meeting in Brussels on Jan. 10 and 11 [2005].

"You can't turn around an organization overnight, but I would say well over 70 to 80 percent of the changes have been initiated," Mr. Herbits said.

He said that Mr. Spitzer's office had not contacted him but that he would fully cooperate. "I'm more than happy to give them anything and everything they may want to see," he said.
Mr. Spitzer's office declined to comment, citing its practice of refusing to confirm or deny investigations. Those who have been questioned by staff members from its charity bureau, which oversees charitable affairs in the state, said they had been told that articles in Jewish news outlets and in The New York Times about the money transfers had provoked the office's interest.

From October 2002 to February 2003, Mr. Singer, the Orthodox rabbi who has led the organization since 1985 and is a close friend and mentor of Mr. Bronfman, ordered the transfer of a total of $1.2 million from the congress's New York account to a numbered account at a UBS branch in Geneva.

He quickly transferred the money to an account in London controlled by Zvi Barak, an Israeli lawyer, after the new manager of the congress's Geneva office alerted him that the longtime accountant in that office had been paying himself roughly $1,900 a month more than his approved salary.
The people in the Geneva office have said they did not know of the account and learned of it a few months later, when the manager, Maya Ben-Haim Rosen, received a bank statement showing that a UBS account she was unaware of had been overdrawn by $40 when Mr. Singer transferred the money to Mr. Barak.
The congress says that the money was transferred to Switzerland with the intention of creating an employee pension plan and that it was put into a dormant account to avoid giving discretion over so much money to Ms. Ben-Haim Rosen, a new employee.
The group says the money never left its control, and its auditor, Loeb & Troper, concurs, even though congress officials had to call Mr. Barak while he was on a cruise to get him to send the money back to New York, Mr. Leibler has said.
Alfred Donath, president of the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities, which has demanded an audit of the Geneva office's accounts, said he was contacted by a representative of Mr. Spitzer's office last week. "She asked me about the letter we wrote, and I told her about it," Mr. Donath said. "It wasn't a long conversation."
Jeremy Lack, a lawyer who serves as spokesman for his father, Daniel Lack, the lawyer for the congress's Geneva office for three decades, said he knew Mr. Spitzer's office was making inquiries, but he would not confirm that his father was contacted. Daniel Lack raised concerns about the money transfers in a letter to Mr. Herbits.
