Canada votes alone for Israel

Canada complicit in Israeli war crimes

With Harper, Canada becomes Israel

We're the only one of 47 nations on UN rights panel to refuse to condemn military offensive in Gaza

OTTAWA–Canada stood alone before a United Nations human rights council yesterday, the only one among 47 nations to oppose a motion condemning the Israeli military offensive in Gaza.

The vote before the Geneva-based body shows the Stephen Harper government has abandoned a more even-handed approach to the Middle East in favour of unalloyed support of Israel, according to some long-time observers.

Thirty-three countries voted for the strongly worded motion, which called for an investigation into "grave" human rights violations by Israeli forces, while 13 nations, mostly European, abstained.

FLASHBACK - Harper condemns criticism of Israel as thinly-veiled anti-Semitism

J-wish Rockstar Harper Preaches More Antisemitism

Harper was interrupted by several standing ovations — at the grand opening ceremony for a community centre.
Harper, who was joined by Conservative MP Peter Kent, who represents the area, urged all Canadians to “confront” anti-Semitism as a “moral evil.
Of course targeting civilians and rescue workers, using human shields and carrying out a genocide in Gaza has nothing to do with anything. Everyone who criticizes Isr-el is an antisemite.

Above all the other speculative causes, the primary reason for Chabad’s continued vitality is the Rebbe’s army of “Shluchim” (emissaries). An inspired force of more than 3,800 couples comprised of smart, idealistic, young to middle-aged men and women filled with zeal, energy and love of the Jewish people plus a deep-rooted desire to make a difference. They dedicate their lives to founding, developing and maintaining the Chabad outreach centres throughout the world.

There are currently 72 active Chabad-Lubavitch Centres in

Canada; 21 of them are in the Province of Ontario.

Our centres everywhere serve the social, educational and religious needs of all Jews no matter what their level of knowledge, observance or affiliation.

The Canadian Press
THORNHILL, Ont — Prime Minister Stephen Harper is urging all Canadians to confront what he calls a “rising tide of anti-Semitism” around the world.
Harper passionately reaffirmed his government’s support for the state of Israel in a speech to hundreds of members of the Jewish community in the Toronto suburb of Thornhill.
Harper was interrupted by several standing ovations — at the grand opening ceremony for a community centre.
Harper, who was joined by Conservative MP Peter Kent, who represents the area, urged all Canadians to “confront” anti-Semitism as a “moral evil.”
He said the Conservatives have been taking continual leadership on that issue, including when Kent spoke out against recent anti-Semitic incidents on some university campuses.
The speech comes amid the government’s refusal to allow British MP George Galloway from entering Canada, apparently because of links to Hamas.
The federal government says Galloway is inadmissible because he engaged in terrorism and was a member of a group that engaged in terrorism.
That charge is apparently based on the fact that Galloway delivered humanitarian goods to war-torn Gaza and gave $45,000 to the Hamas government.
Hamas is a banned terrorist organization in Canada.
Galloway’s lawyers are challenging the entry ban and are considering a civil action.
